Just another norinco 1911 couldn't resist with the 1000 rounds

my brand new 599.00 Canada Ammo deal was very clean, some sharp bits on the slide but all in all very nice looking. I gave it all a good clean and took it to the range. I went with a buddy of mine. He is one of those types that own everything or has owned everything. his reply to the Norinco can't be made public(children do read this) so here I am side by side with some fancy kimbers, glocks, and sigs and my not so fancy Norinco shot clean without fails 500 plus rounds. I have to say that I'm a better shot than I expected and the Norinco performed flawlessly save one, the sights on mine weren't that noticeable and after 50 rounds or so the front sight was indistinguishable with the background, it might have been covered with carbon or maybe my not so good old man eyes. so I might want to swap out for a more visible set. The Norinco ammo has a bigger kick and is much dirtier than my buddies precision reloads. I let him shoot my new norc and he was impressed and so was I..... thank you Canada ammo.... and thank you Norinco, so to all those naysayers - do not think that all china stuff sucks....

Only a couple hundred rounds in, but what an amazing bargain this gun is! I stoned/filed a considerable amount of the finish off removing the razor blades. I think it looks better now, kind of a well worn, aged look. Now to break it of the brass eating. It seems 1/3 - 1/2 of the ejected brass has been crimped on its way out. Lack of lube? Entirely possible. I'm more used to abusing a plastic gun
maybe 3 -4 FTE jams, and those in the first 50-100 rounds. Brass munching got less through the session as well. The sights really need attention, especially for low light, so that will be looked into, and its not broken in hardly, so I'm not concerned about the brass issue .yet. Overall two thumbs up. Fun, fun, fun!

Bought mine last fall. I've got about 2000 rounds through it so far. 2 out of 4 Norc mags needed tweaking to work with 200grn lead swc. Sights have been replaced with 3 dot adjustable rear. Much better in low light. I've changed all the springs as I shoot lighter loads. Only complaint is the extractor gums up after 3-400 rounds. I've tried 231 and titegroup powder with same result. Going to try clays next as I heard it's cleaner. Aftermarket extractor is inbound so trying that before the powder change. Had a combat elite before and other than a few rough spots this is every bit as good
