just another sks

I was thinking of litterally doing the same thing, i wasn't going to polish it though....that would take forever haha. I was thinking or getting a firearm coating, taking the bayo and cleaning rod off and removing the lug.....maybe drop it in a timber smith stock. I may still do it. it would cost about 600$ to do it though....that's including the stock. It would be cool to have the only one like that though. I think it looks awesome.

what were the steps in getting the bluing off for that rifle, i thought about doing it but wasnt sure how to go about doing it. Also with taking off the bayo lug were you still able to cut it off with out wrecking that pin that holds it on there

Great idea! I like is so much i decided to copy it ;p. thanks !

(think I'm going to polish the cleaning rod / bayonet handle as well though)

Nice! Looks like a Red Mini 14, with the hand guard and all. Nice rifle man, nice to see there's more customizing options for an SKS than just Tapco or Archangel stocks.

That looks amazing. Nice to see the stocks can clean up so well! My first SKS is at the postal depot waiting for me to pick it up along with a crate of ammo - Can't wait to put some lead down the pipe!

Ya, this stock was crazy good condition.. stripped the varnish, did a few rubs with scotch pad, and re-stained.. there was no need to sand it

i used white vinegar on the barrel / receiver, And i used a beed blaster on everything else to remove blueing. i tried a few different methods for polishing… various grit sand papers etc.. i found the faster and easier way was to rub with scotch red pad until the dull disappeared, then used metal polish. for the smaller, hard to reach places, i used Dremel polishing bits and paste

ps. sorry for the thread hijack. ;p
