Just Asking: COD MW2 Acog reticle

Hey all

This is pretty much for those who know what im talking about. I've searched and came up with nothing.

Long story short. The new game "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" has a rifle with an "ACOG" scope with a weird reticle. Pretty much I've searched for it. I dont think it actually exists so I figured I'd ask on here.

is the best I could come up with

Pretty much a cross reticle with the inside cross being lit by tritium(?)

Im not sure how to descrive it so Im directing said question at those who played the game/have seen it in the game.

Any ideas?

I know what your talking about, but Ive never seen it on any optics.

It's not a real ACOG reticle. Trijicon shows all available reticles and that isn't there. The basic outline is correct but the yellow dot and expand red parts are just for the game.

Yeah I was just curious because that was one neat set up.

**spoiler warning** Especially later when it "failed" after the EMP, and you had JUST the crosshair.

I didnt think it actually existed but I thought I'd ask the Gurus here. I should shoot a note to Trijicon for them to make one

I beleive that the in-game reticle is different because if the game's publisher copied the ACOG exactly, they'd owe likeness rights to Trijicon.

In real life optics like that are far too small to be affected by an EMP.

How much damage an EMP does is proportional to the length of the "antenna" (or in the case of electrical systems, the wires). With Aimpoints, EOtechs, and other small battery powered devices (like watches) its more than likely not going to hurt them, unless your so close, that you would die of Radiation poisoning within a few minutes

This has been discussed over at ARFcom a bunch of times, and the guys that seem to know things always agree.

EMP will mainly affect the power grid, even your car may live through it.

Lol I was just referring to the fact that the lit part (probably battery operated) seemed to fail in that part of the game

either way I just liked that configuration like a rds and a scope in one.

Not sure how I feel about the EMPs yet, don't think they should require a 15 kill streak to get though

I don't see why you have to be such a high level to get the AK47 either..

It's a game period. Very fun but not very realistic in terms of actual combat skills.

Think somebody should make a "reticle" thread with a pic of said reticle and which scope it belongs to with a minor description.

I'm guessing its because the ak is a very old firearm, just like the "1887" shotgun... and since its in "modern warfare", its unique... its a great firearm and it must take some time to aquire


btw, I also wondered the same thing, acog in mw2 sucks, im glad it aint real.
