Great trip for Plains Game with Umdende at two locations in Zulu Natal...9 animals taken (my 14 year old son took 7 and I took 2).

















 
As an FYI the Eland pic was taken back at camp. It was shot on a rocky hillside that made posing it for proper photos almost impossible...As it was it needed to be winched 50 yards down the hill to a point that the truck could still barely get to...
 
That's AWESOME!!! Very nice to see a young man out enjoying the Shooting Sports with his dad! Well done!

Bought hunt at local SCI fundraiser for my son...Paid $4500 CDN there for 5 day 6 night hunt with 5 animals included for him. A number of Manitoba guys have hunted with Umdende and all spoke highly of the operation. I added on as a second hunter for $300 day plus trophy fees. No clue on taxidermy costs yet and I have not yet received the final invoice for extra animals and myself hunting. When I get a total cost on everything I will post.
 
On way there we flew Winnipeg-Toronto-Frankfurt-Joburg. Way home was one additional flight from Durban to Joburg...

We only took one rifle between us...Tikka 308 with 165 grain Federal factory loads that worked well. All game was taken with this rifle except for my Eland which I borrowed the PH's 300 Win Mag for with 180 grain bullets...

It was arranged a dozen different ways for photos...that shot seems fairly common for zebra...not sure why...either way it was the best one with everybody's eyes open etc. Also this one appears darker due to a fire that occurred recently and there was soot covering a lot of the vegetation in the area that had rubbed off on the animals making them appear dingy...
