And she's a beaut. It's a refurb though, but the action, trigger group and dust cover are all original/matching. The stock, bolt and mag are forced match. The bore is minty and it is in excellent condition, a good find. I was just in the store looking for rings, but couldn't turn down an early Russian SKS.

Nice find, it looks great!
And who cares if it's a refurb... to me that just means the rifle's probably got more of a history behind it than one that immediately went into storage for 60 years after it was made (...to be fair, I don't own any refurbs currently, but I would be just as happy with one as I am with any of my non-refubs)

I had a 1949 like this too, with a blade bayonet, sold it to a fellow CNG. Its likely a late 49, blade bayo appeared on late 49. Keep it, i shouldnt have sold mine :bangHead:

I was a little disappointed to find that it didn't have the original bolt with spring loaded firing pin in it. Also, even though the magazine is a forced match, it is representative of the magazine found on 1949 SKS's (slightly different shape than later years).

You can see this when its beside the 51 I just bought.
