After alot of looking around I finally found the GSP I have been looking for at a good price and excellent breeding. Im heading down to Little River Pheasant in South Dakota and picking him up in 2 weeks.
Look out pheasant :D

Awesome. You got lots of fun work ahead of you.
If I were you I'd invest in half to one dozen homing pigeons.

Good luck with the training.

Take it from someone who has owned a bunch - glue your furniture down, smash all of your nice lamps, and buy some plastic dinnerware.

Exuberant, they are. For Rook, licking is not sufficient, he must bite you every third lick or so.

This will be my second so I know what to expect. I find that if they get the proper excersice and attention they are quite managable in the house. I did have a few chair legs chewed and lost a few boots:D

GSP's are one of my favorite hunting dogs. Have fun with the little guy! Oh ya, and POST PICS when you get him home, my wife LOVES puppy pics!

Cheers

My vote goes for Kona. The others are kind of obvious/too popular. I got "Rook" from thumbing through a Cartridges of The World book. It fits well because he also covers ground like the chess piece.

BTW, I have (distant) family in Kona.

I like the idea of Browning as a name, but it may not have the best 'ring' to it when you're calling it out in the field.
Regardless of the name, that's a sharp looking pup.

Great choose of dogs I have a GSP as well his name is Ruger and he is a great Grouse / Water dog. Good luck with your Dog and my wife loves your puppy's picture
