I just bought myself a new .22lr. I've 'needed' a good lever action 22 for a long time now, and I just got my bonus this year, so.... It came down to this or the browning bl-22, which had a quicker shorter action, but didn't deliver the visual orgy, and had much too short a LOP for me.

I look forward to sending many pounds of lead downrange with this puppy

Sweet. Did you get the one with the octogon barrel? I was actually thinking of getting one of these myself. For $377 at SIR how could you not? I think the model I was looking at was something like HW001T? Post some pics when you have a moment

Yep, octagon barrel, brass receiver. The brass models go for a little under $500. Nice and shiny, I can see myself in the reflection :D

Kinda thinking that one of those old-time-y brass tube scopes - the ones that cover the entire length of the barrel - would look sweet on it. Still, that's probably an expensive proposition

I've started to develop an interest in old west style guns lately...one of these would be cool.

Let us know how it shoots!

I looked at those but bought the H001 instead.Sweet action and just feels right.I also bought a Marbles rear tang sight to install for silohuette shoots.Everyone that has one loves them it seems.Levers rule

22 WMR and .22 LR cases are not interchangable. The rim on the WMR is thicker, and the pin will strike short, but sometimes they can still fire. General rule, dont do it.

I have friend with a 20 gauge/.22 magnum over and under and he fires .22 shorts long rifle and.22 magnums all out of the same gun. Is it safe to do this?
Maybe only because it's a break action, I don't know. Any thoughts?

If you put a LR and a WMR case side by side, you'll see the visable, (Other than length) differences in case dimensions. The bullet diameters are different, the cases are fatter in the WMR and the rims are thicker in the WMR. While I doubt you will blow yourself up firing an oversized .224 LR bullet in a .223 WMR rifle, I can't see it being much good either. If you have a WMR, shoot magnum ammo. Otherwise, get a .22.
