Just bought a set up and I am as green as grass lol, advice?!

The ABC's Of Reloading is a good book to start with.

Do you find it goes on thinner? I use the technique Ganderite reccomends with the Lee but even with a coat so thin the cases are hard to get out of the sizer I still get a few dents on and below the shoulder with it.

Being a spray, you have full control over how much you apply. I just give by brass a quick spray from about a 45 deg. angle, and really just do the necks, and it works fine

Hey guys! So I have been shooting for a very long time now, but finally got into the reloading aspect as factory ammo would not do it for long range anymore. I am not in it for money saving process, I simply want the most precise/accurate loads possible. I just spent $1800 on a full set up today, didn't cheap out. I need the reloading steps for dummies lol. Have VERY little experience, does some one have a video or info page that shows the steps from first to last(I have a ton of used dirty brass)? I don't really have any friends that I can learn from. Thanks! Reloading .308 only for now

Hey, you didn't tell us what you bought  Dillon XL650?

Its obviously one of the progressive presses so definitely take your time as they are the easiest to screw up on for newbies specially if its a Hornady Ammo Plant.

Read a good part of the book, very helpful and lots of tips. But youtube was much much more helpful(I learn better seeing it done firsthand). Some very detailed videos cutting no corners, ended up making two batches last night!!! Pretty pumped, can't wait to test them.

- Nosler Custom Comp 168gr
- IMR 4166: 38grs
- Nosler brass
- CCI primer
- 2.797" depth

- Nosler Custom Comp 168gr
- CFE 223: 46.8 grs
- Federal Brass
- CCI primer
- 2.804"

The only things missing in the picture is my case trimmer block and balance scale(Bought both electronic and manual). I am using the Hornady One Shot lube, I was told it was much better and faster as it does not need to be wiped and doesn't effect powder(It seemed to work well).

Also I don't know if mine was missing papers but it didn't tell me how to set the bullet seat die. The video I was watching, which seemed to be very thorough and had near the same set up, said to screw in the die till it touches the case. The back it out a full turn, lock it down. And set your depth from there. Seemed to work fine, everyone measured dam near perfect. Hornady American series die set. Is this wrong or right, that was the only thing I kinda had an issue with.

Another question haha. Should the bullet slide easily into the case after resizing? I can't slide my Nosler Custom comps into any case I have by hand, even the new ready to load Nosler brass. Yet guys say you should be able to when it comes to measuring bullet seat depth in your rifle. Thanks

There should be some felt resistance using the seating die.
