Just Bought Colt Canada SA20 was it worth it compared to U.S Colt, DD, FN.....

Due to the fear of only possessing my trusty S&W MP 15 with impeding gun bans hanging over, I purchased a new Colt Canada SA20 for 1899$. The price was the best I could find, however with little research done on the rifle all I know is that its a quality piece of kit. What are peoples experience with the Colt Canada SA series of rifles? Was it worth it compared to an american Colt AR15-A4 or FN M16 clone? Stoked from the purchase and yet saddened that Liberal politicians are making me panic buy:confused:
 
That’s a good price for a CC SA. Now if you’re a clone nut like a number of us are, you could easily spend that and much more in the quest to clone your rifle properly. Enjoy it!

Depends on what you want to do with. Quality of cc guns are second to none. And being a sa20 you can potentially transfer all the bits and build a slr and/or modern sporter.

Nordikmarksman have some otherwise you’ll need time and cash to gather all the proper parts and bits to built a c7a2 clone!
I’m waiting for my non restricted atrs fa receiver to show up to play around in the wood with mine!

Congrats on the purchase! I made the same one last week.

The ATRS FA receiver and CF furniture will look great, Perron. I'm green with envy.

I went with the SLR and classic black for mine!

its an excellent purchase,

in a nutshell the m&p is mass produced and designed as an everyday sport rifle

as for the sa20, it is a super limited edition and an exact clone of the service rifle built to milspec

hence the dollar difference

Love my SA20....I customized it because it’s mine and mine alone. Green furniture can be found right here on the EE forum and once in a while Nordic Marksman sure tempts the heck outta me!!

I like a shorter barrel without that tall FSB so I sold that wonderful 20”’ barrel to an Afghan vet buddy and he’s happier that a pig in slop. I installed a 14.5” barrel since I’m only shooting CQB ranges and clinics I swapped all my Diemaco furniture to same veteran buddy. Win and win and win!! Everyone wins. Kinda like Special Olympics.

I know the gun I got is the second batch of "limited editions" with the white roll marks, what are the differences and what experience do you guys have with them in comparison to the original 2014 guns? Thanks.
 
Good buy. You can't build it proper for that price. Green furniture pops up on the EE on occasion. Just watch for it. Colt Canada gets rave reviews, respect and support from around the world.
