hi all I took the plunge im the proud owner (waiting on CFO) of a brand new Gen 3 glock 19. most of the time its gonna be for casual plinking perhaps the odd ipsc match and maybe a cqb course if theres ever one in the area. what do I need to know? thoughts on the suppressor sights? will a gen 4 oem extended mag release work on a gen 3? I have googled and I have read parts of other threads. just hoping to get a open dialogue with have glock owners. perhaps some in the Shilo area? oh I found them in the states but has any one seen metal glock mags in Canada? I really like my magnetic mag pouches haha

Mag Release is specific to Gen 3. Vickers is probably the best. Probably wanna swap out the front sight or just colour it yourself when the yellow pops out like mine did. Some nail Polish will do the trick. I have a grip plug although it's not necessary. I run her as is for IDPA. Metal glock mags are around. One vendor has them on sale right meow along with low glock prices. Tac Comp makes a good IWB holster for it. Enjoy your new glock.

I'm pretty sure Plastic mags work with magnetic pouches.... Polymer glock mags have internal metal liners that will stick to the magnet

I had the suppressor sights and found they were too high for some kydex holsters. They are better than stock Glock sights for sure but maybe a little too high. Comp Tac works OK and maybe newer Blade Techs. You will need a Gen 3 specific mag release, there are lots of extended ones to choose from including Glock has a version and they are cheap. Also get yourself a lighter connector to reduce trigger pull a bit.

You should try IDPA, there is a match a Firing Line in Winnipeg on Mar. 25 i think. I really like the Glock 19, may be best of the bunch.
