Just bought my first hand gun

Hi Roadcarver,

Just a heads up. You might consider having a non-restricted firearm and joining a range (i.e. Silverdale) that supports both restricted and non-restricted. I say that because, like you, I was so excited when I got my first gun and I couldn't wait to join a club. Once I joined I found out that I had to wait an additional 6-8 weeks for my ATT to arrive. To help me through the wait, I purchased a non-restricted firearm and used that to kill time while waiting for the ATT to finally be able to use and take my pistol to the range.

Good choice ...I have the 92FS in stainless , i often just look at it and think what a good looking pistol it is......plus it shoots great.....

Tip for your 92FS based on personal experience. Make sure the slide is lubed! Not dripping wet but some CLP or gun oil lightly rubbed in should do it. If you run the gun dry, it will FTE or FTF or both. Otherwise, zero problems. They are great guns!

Finally took a photo of my M92FS.

Awsome choice for first gun! Beautiful and classic! Have an M9 myself, bought a few guns before it and nothing special about any of them until I shot the Beretta for first time. I get Great groups every time with it!!
Like others said drop in a D spring from Brownells and I went with the Hogue panels grips. Huge difference!
Enjoy and Congrats!!

Why is it so hard today to join a gun club in Ontario? Is it this hard in every province? I Just bought a shotgun and an AR and have no where to shoot it for at least another year... I think the OP should buy a Non-restricted lol because he will be fondling the Beretta for a while.

(For the record I am apart of one club but its hand gun calibers only)

I just Googled "D spring", and it appears to be an easy upgrade. Does it make the hammer spring less stiff when manually cocking the hammer back?

Beretta M92 always has a special place in my heart. I was inspired by the movie series "Lethal Weapon" when Mel Gibson was trying to shoot down the bad guy at the helicopter from far distance. Really love this pistol.

Congratulation!

Cheese,

That's exactly where I saw the Beretta M92 from, the Lethal Weapon movie. I wanted to have it when I first laid eyes on it. More than 2 decades later, I get to own it :)
