Well I did it, after more then a year of wanting I finaly purchaced an STI Edge with the hard chrome finish in .40

I plan on doing the IPSC thing as soon as I get my BlackBadge, it will just be a few weeks befor I can afford to get the equipement needed, and then a bit more till I can afford the course.

I cant take the pistol home yet, as PAL takes a month, but I kept the target, and I think I did pretty good, all 50 rounds were on the paper, one was close to off but still made it. First shot was dead center.

Just wanted to post a hello :)

and see how well I did with my first 50 rounds.

Thanks :) I am still excited and itchen to put more through it, I am told it has a 200-400 round break in.
in the first mag 1 shot jammed, but none after that.

it was about 20 minutes after hours by the time everything was done, so I didnt want to tie them up too much.
Took me a long time to figure out if I wanted to spend the 400 extra on the hard chrome then the blued.

I'll post pics as soon as my PAL comes, just mailed away for it today.

That piece of paper is 14" by 14"
I am still "afraid" of the bang sometimes, so I think once I get over that I will be better too.
I cant wait to get it home though. I'll have lots of pics, as one of hobbies is photography too (well I get paid most of the time for it).

Yes STI for first gun, I hate buying "starter" stuff just to get what I really want later as it always ends up costing way more. I figured this will last me a long time. :) plus it looks so very nice. I almost got the aniversery one, but the step up to it for some fancy markings was too much.

I want to go tomorrow to shoot but there is an IPSC match, so I will go and watch that, and see if anyone has some STI mags for sale.

pics will be as soon as I cant get it home.

gobrob, do you shoot at pheonix range often?

I've just discovered this fine sport, i applied for my PAL and am too waiting to be able to get my gun from Missisauga........
So in the meantime, i have been going about once a week to Phoenix, and using their range guns......
I'm sure i'll run into you there sometime!!

Was your first car a ferrari? I have personally bought & sold over 20 pistols looking for the right one, and for me it's a Hard Chrome .40 Edge as well. There is no way you can be dissapointed in that gun, it is AWSOME!

hey OKDAVE.
Where did you get those grips..........me likey
john442

They were done by Advanced Performance Shooting in the states. He shapes your origonal grips, textures them, and paints them if you like. They are much more "grippy" than stock and the trigger guard is ground up a bit which raises your grip, plus they look cool.

wow, I like that.
I love my gun :) and am VERY happy with owning it. I cant wait to put enough through it to have it broken in.

My first car was a brand new grand am gt in 01.when i was 18. I went through a couple sports cars since then and have a 99 cherokee right now, needed to sell my sports car to get an extra 9k I needed to put down on my house to make the 20% down to avoid that crappy insurance thing. and now I realizing owning a cheaper vehicle alows me to have a few other extra things in life.

I go to Oyama (tween lakes) for vacation every summer, if there is a good range or even an ipsc event when I am down I will have to bring mine with :)
I assume kelowna has to have a good outdoor range. Would be nice to see your grip too :)

Welcome to the sport! Good shooting, don't think I was that good my first time out.

Now you need to be saving your brass for your next favorite hobby......reloading! Enjoy your new gun and stay safe!

Thanks :)
I had shot a few times befor, but i would say less then 300 rounds as usually my gf puts half the box through too.

I kept all the brass from this box, only managed to get 43 of them though. I figure once I get up to 1000 brass or so I will start reloading.

welcome to the wonderful world of hand gun shooting .
so now you gotta tell everyone how great it is so everyone will wanna do it then maby people wont want to take them away from us

Jeff, yea we have a great range here in Kelowna. Definetly bring your Edge & Rig with you when you come up. We may not be hosting an IPSC qualifier here this summer but we will have several fun matches.

BTW I ski on Wood & Kal lake regularly May through September.

Awesome :)
I will bring everything for sure. I'll just have to find out how I can store it, dont think I can leave it in my jeep??? might have to rent a locker at the range for the time I am there.

On a side note I went an put 100 more rounds through it today :)

this is how I did.

I dont know why its always low to the left, I think I might be flinching at the pull of the trigger or something.
