Just bought my first pistol.. any advice?

Here's another one for you that I just discovered last night. No matter how hard you try or how much damage your willing to inflict on your hands you won't get the slide lock pin out with a magazine in the gun.

I'm sure there was no ammo in that mag but still, part of field stripping any gun should be a last second clearing of the gun. And the first step in clearing a semi auto is to drop any magazine that is in the gun before pulling the slide back to check the chamber. You may want to make these two steps into something you do automatically. Even to the point of pushing the mag release even when you already know there is no mag in the gun. It's all about making it a locked in habit so you don't get a surprise at some point where there is ammo and loaded magazines at the range.

Less than two weeks and I got my paperwork to go through. Took it out yesterday and putt 200 rounds through it and I couldn't be more pleased with my decision! I didn't do a full take down yet, just degreased and cleaned the barrel but wow what an amazing firearm. Easiest shooting pistol I've used by far (not that I've used that many) and delivered on what all the reviews said about it. Think I might have to invest in some reloading equipment and that it might be time to get that Benelli Nova I've been wanting haha. Cheers!

I'm on the same slippery slope, pal.

I'm not sure if my mags are different from what you guys are using but I find the CZ mags very easy to load. I can even load the silly M&P mags with that tight 10th round without a loader. Tips I picked up were from this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GIiQPSSoCs
