Just bought my first restricted.

Bought my first restricted, store is in Ontario and I am in Manitoba. Got transfer approved in less than 24 hours and without calling CFO for it nor providing range membership proof.

So any fresh reminders now for when I get the restricted? I have a stack on gun cabinet that locks with a key. I also need a trigger lock even though its in the cabinet/safe right? I can keep the ammo and the guns together inside the cabinet correct? Anything else? Its been a while since i took the course lol

If it meets the definition of safe/cabinet you don't need a trigger lock unless your transporting a restricted firearm. You can keep ammo in there as long as it's not loaded inside the gun. I would like to ask... Do you need a range membership to buy restricted in Ontario? I've seen that some people say you don't.

No you dont need one. There are not many ranges in Ontario, there are none in Toronto because a moronic Mayor banned them a while ago. The ones closet to Toronto are normally full and you cant be a member unless you book a year or two in advance.

Well congrats on the restricted purchase. And yes as stated first restricted usually take longer.

Sorry to hear about the state of affairs in the Toronto area regarding range availability. That prompts me to highly recommend getting a laser target dryfire set-up so that you can practice at home with it in a way that shows results, produces improvement and raises the fun factor.

Without a range membership I imagine you will not have a standard ATT attached to your .0002 rpal . Will you need to get a STATT each time you plan to head off on a day trip to your nearest available facility ?

Congrats on your Glock. I also purchased my first restricted in Ontario. Received the West German P226 in VG condition in 3 days, she is tight and rails perfect. I was surprised at the condition of this W German Sig work of art. It feels really good in my hand and it should. It is a man's gun.

Approval for a first restricted within hours...in Ontario... Brother if that happens buy a lotto ticket.

Congrats on your purchase.

No. Batten the hatches, check that all your insurance policies are up to date, and watch your back, you've just used up a lot of good luck.

So i just got the approval today. IT took 2 business days to get approved for my first restricted in Ontario. Good job CFO.

Grats man! I bought a 9mm Glock as my first handgun/restricted, but my next one is going to be a nice little .22LR handgun for plinking. I'd have been better picking this .22 up 5 years ago and do all that practice, THEN get the G17, but oh well, live and learn!

I just bought my first one a week ago as well. My PAL arrived in the mail on Apr 1 and I ordered online the same day. RCMP approved the transfer on Apr 3 and the gun was at my doorstep on Apr 5 noon.
