So as the title states I decided to pick up a Russian SKS (more like impulse bought one). Well it finally arrived in the mail yesterday and much to my surprise there was zero cosmoline on the rifle. I was really surprised and actually a little let down, I was kind of looking forward to cleaning all the stuff off! Is that normal to get a rifle without any cosmoline on it? I got it from one of the site sponsors and I figured caked in cosmo was the norm.
Onto the rifle itself. So far it appears that all the numbers match except for the magazine. And for some reason the magazine does not want to come off the rifle. I've popped the trigger group out but it's just jammed in there. Anyone have any tips for removing a magazine that doesn't want to come out? The mechanic in me wants to start prying on it but I figured I should ask before I break something.
Lastly where can I get replacement springs for the trigger group? Mine are all rusty and even though they function fine it bothers me immensely!
