I'm not sure what Dante's price was, but there would be 15% tax for buying in person so say $3000-$3100 based on $2600-$2700 retail.
Cooper is $2850+5% gst with free shipping so $3000.
Good call on the pricing, you nailed it lol.

I have a Yodave spring in my t3 and hunt with it, set at the highest pull weight setting mind you ;)

That T3 Arctic looks like a Ruger GSR ####ed a Tikka sporter. I kinda like it

First off (and not directed at you Hitzy), I understand OP's motivation and applaud it..... if he loved the rifle out of the gate and pounced when the limited editions became available and personally decided to pay the price then that is awesome...... you can't take it with you as they say....... I have all too many friends that think I am crazy for spending $2k on a rifle and a lot of those friends are more than happy to spend $5k and more on a resort vacation and drink to the point they can't remember any of it..... however, I do agree on the pricing aspect in that it's still a very expensive rifle for a Tikka......

As for Cooper, when i think of cooper rifles, where I see value is a solid action with superb fit and finish, great wood and deep rich bluing (I think the accuracy guarantee stuff is BS), and that does not only apply to Cooper IMOP....

$3k for a laminate stocked plain finished Cooper is just as unreasonable as the Tikka prices imop......

I like it too....... but man, that price....... and I used to be a ranger, so I had interest just for the hell of it........

Plus I am still hooked on my lipseys Ruger GSR....... so no motivation to replace it....

I was trying to find one sort of comparable....more on the durable side then the prettier side, that ugly Cooper jumped out at me!
There are some pretty nice lighter weight conventional Coopers for around the $2500 mark at PR, and then the REALLY nice safari rigs that start at double that....someday I may get one in the safe...
Right now I want one of those 18.7" SS GSR's in laminate. Seems like a reasonably price all weather rifle that can take some abuse.

I have two GSR's........my 308 lipseys in wood and stainless with flash hider (still want a thread protector, lol) and the basic .223 with laminate and parkerized finish ...... the .223 is my "fun gun" at camp.... it's a great platform for sure.....

I wonder how limited there will be ? I had heard it would be a regular offering and it's not like Cabelas to stock a limited run firearm.
I'm looking forward to heading south and checking one out in person.

I discovered this week that Tikka is just starting to sell a Ranger-similar version of their T3 CTR, called T3 ARCTIC. I bought one yesterday and tried it today. I love it.

Very light, very accurate, compact, I look forward to go hunting with it in a few days.

See attached pictures (I remove the "iron" sight, to install a scope on the Picatinny rail), including first grouping at 100 yards.

Warmly recommended.

I bought it at Dante Sports in Montreal (they had 2 in stock, one left). It was my first time there, wow, great service, I was impressed. If you go, ask to see Boris, a real pro.

Happy Hunting!
Nice rifle! Wish I could afford one.

I never would have removed the rear sight though. The nice sights are one of the major selling points on this rifle for me but I'm sure it'll do the job for you.
