My VERY first Black Rifle Purchase.

Anyone try bullets from Nosler? E-Tips, AB or BST?

I am leaning towards BST but want to use this thing for hunting, Deer, Moose, Bear, and Elk so assuming the AB or E-Tip will be better suited towards Elk or Moose.

What bullet weight would be better 150 or 168gr?(not even sure of the barrel twist?)

I am going to try IMR 4895 and Varget, and CCI-200 Primers to start with.

First of congrats!!!

I use wall-mart winchester balistic silver tip (168gr.). They group really well! Even my norinco 7.51x51 147 gr. Surplus groupe under 1.5 moa. Id say stay arround 168gr. and away from soft point!

I have shot honest 1 inch 3 shot groups with factory Norma Match 168 gr HPBT.

Awesome first black firearm! Welcome to the dark side!

Cheers
Jay

My primary choice for factory loaded ammunition if the 168 grain Winchester Ballistic Silvertips. Toonie sized groups at 100m from the bench.

Congratulations on the new rifle!

Congrats, regarding your bullet choice I love the 165 gr accubonds in my 308. Smacked a moose this year and it performed perfect. I also have shot deer with 180gr accubonds from my 30 06 with great results. There all I shoot for hunting.

Ah- that could be it.
Also....
:needPics:

My RFB in deer season, the pup in the pic is my German Wirehaired Pointed. Nos is my constant companion ALL hunting season!

Cheers
