Just bought this Mako for $525, your thoughts?

Savage Mako Edition in 17HMR with a couple hundred rounds through her purchased from Customs954 on here. Just pending my sending him the funds tomorrow.

Banner 6x18x50 scope, harris bipod with sling, multiple magazines, basic hard case. Price includes shipping from BC to AB.

Price $525 (Original asking was $650)

Your thoughts? He seems like a really nice, knowledgeable guy and I hope I made a fair deal for both of us on a quality product.

This is my first rifle (like really my own, not borrowed or owned by a family member).
 
If you're happy (which you clearly are as you have two threads on the exact same topic) then why do others opinions matter to you?
 
If you're happy~it's a good deal, period. Don't sweat whether you paid a few extra $, or got the best deal...those things don't matter now. Buy a few different varieties of ammo, figure-out what it likes, and enjoy your new rifle.
 
It's a good deal. The bipod and scope alone are worth over $300 new. That to me... Looks like a good deal.

Buying the same gun new would cost you the same without all the extras.
 
Good deal on the rifle package, but I think that it's somewhat inappropriate to discuss the particulars of a private deal between two members. That's what the trader ratings are for.

I know that I wouldn't want the details of deal broadcasted out like this thread does.

No offense but just a word of advice...

I agree, especially as the funds have not been sent. It almost makes it appear as if the poster got replies saying that he paid too much that he would back out of the deal because it isn't paid for yet. This may not at all be the case but this is the first impression I got after reading the post. Questions about price etc. should have been asked before the deal was made and names not mentioned. Just some input on how some might be interpreting the post.
 
funds are sent. Called the RCMP already to authroize the transfer... at that price I'm more than sure (from my own research) that the deal is fair. I'm fairly new to firearms myself, advice and opinions from more experienced people are always welcome. I knew posting this I was not outside a reasonable ballpark for the package...

But I do think being new here, if there were to be a red flag somewhere, with a person OR with a deal it's important to help someone out.

I'm sorry if anyone interpreted this as anything other than sharing what I'm up to and seeking opinions...

I dont know what a good trader rating is really (from ebay where most ratings are in the tens of thousands) and you just never know...

I'm glad people approve enough of the rifle and package to turn their attention to analyzing my dealmaking ;)
 
lol, sorry courtnan, I'm new and excited. and the threads are different... this one is about the one i just bought.. the others were helping me with details, comparing to other rifles, narrowing the search ;)

Its a nice rifle, quality, and IT LOOKS LIKE A FREAKIN SHARK!!! :) Flashes of austin powers :)
 
might take me a day or two to take some that aren't naughty in nature ;) lol
surprisingly.. any cute girl i'm currently talking to or seeing who finds out i got it, wants to come touch it or shoot it.

Chick...magnet.
A lot cheaper than a sports car too, and safer!
