Just curious, does anyone build a 10/22 M1 carbine kit?

I don't know about manufactured kits, but there was an article in an issue of Rifleshooter last year that had instructions on how to do it yourself. It looks like they've got the article posted on their site.

There's also instructions on giving it the look of an M1 Garand, and an MG42.

I made one last year, just reshaped the factory stock and slapped some surplus parts on it. Lost interest in it before I found a proper front sight, so now it sits abandoned with my Thompson 10/22.

Stupid really, because I bought the rifle new just for the project.

I made one as well. All you need is real M1 stock, folding or full, and then adjust the inletting for the 1022. It really doesn't take much effort at all. You can purchase the sights on line. I don't remember the name of the manufacturer but it's an easy find on google. After that you are ready to rock and roll.

They probably don't make a kit because it so easy to do in the first place.

It looks like you are using the M1 mag in the pic, how do the 10/22 mags fit into the M1 bottom metal?
