I was just wondering how many out there hunted with a vintage double barrel this past fall, let's say from 1940 or earlier. Thought it might be interesting to see the comparison of what was used. If you did, what was it and what did you use for loads. If you didn't, how many hope to next fall?
I took 3 different vintage guns out this fall from a "by gone " era. I took my Joseph Lang from around 1873, my JP Clabrough from around 1890 (both damascus barrels) and my Darne from 1931. I used Kent Gamebore 2 1/2" paper hulls with felt wads in all of them. I always tend to "visualize" how, when and where these guns were used when I carry one afield.
