Here it is guys, 100% Maple stained with red mahogany and finished with coats of polyurethane:D

2 months and she's ready to play with me:dancingbanana:

Just trying to figure out how to set it all up in a neat way.

I built a bench .. out of pine .. un-stained .. un-sanded.

I wouldn't use that as my gun bench, i'd put that in my dining room!

That looks amazing .. congrats!
 
Dude, that is nuts. I wouldn't use such a nice desk for a reloading bench. Nice work but seeing as you only have lapua components; the bench makes sense.
 
Looks great. Do you have a strong mount type setup for the press? If not, you'll run into the same problem I have in not being able to use one of my drawers since the press will block it :(

Ha ha, It's just my nature, first I figured I'll just reinforce the table, than I figured stain it, sand it, reinforce it, and finish it, plus I had to put the table in a basement rather than the garage as I planned, so it has to be clean or else :slap:

If you are still looking for solution I'll try to send you the picture, basically it make the press elevated above the table with a somewhat of a metal box, plus you can use pre-made metal mounts for floor 2x6 at Home Depot :)
 
Awesome work! But keep building - like the rest of us you're gonna run out of room real fast. Might as well line the whole basement wall with matching bench/shelves/cabinets then what doesn't fit could maybe live at my house???

I'll be putting up lockable cupboards above the table and on the sides :D
 
I just used an old desk, and mounted the press on the end of a cinder block. So far so good, and with a bag of shot in the rear opening of the block, I can resize .223 without the press moving at all. Of course, it would scratch up that nice finish!

I am curious what your plans are for the mounting, and how high will you mount it?

I like mine higher than the bench, and the block is just about right. Also, being able to move the press off the bench easily is really nice.

Great job on the finish!

I just purchased one of these from Sinclair (the stand, not the press)

It is a great, simple pre-made solution to mounting your press and keeping it mobile.

Built mine out of plain old plywood. Actually it was a photographic darkroom for my work on B&W only everyone wanted colour & would hardly pay for the photos, SO it went into my darkroom. Just strengthened the tops with even thicker 3/4" plywood back in '79 & that is it---oh yes forgot, but used floor vinel on top of the wood. Simplicity & not looks is what I went for.
