I just got back from the range today with the my 7" AR. Built it completely from parts. I would still like to add a KAC QD flash hider, MIAD and some rail covers but I have to say she functioned flawlessly. I was worried after hearing all the horror storys about short barreled AR's not working but I put 300 or so rounds down range and not a single stoppage. I would just like to thank the members on this board who supplied some of the parts.

I can't really decide if I should put optics on it. If I do it will be an EoTech 553 or one of those LaRue gucci Dr Optics. The S&B Short Dot will be saved for the LMT MRP build.

The range in my town is only 100 metres. Using a figure 12c, from the standing at 25m with iron sights, group size was 5cm max. From the kneeling & prone, You could cover them up with a nickel. At 50m prone, group size was 3-5cm. At 100m prone, with a figure 11, one could easily pass the infantry standard of 10cm. It would have been even easier if I had some sort of optic with a bit of magnification (my eyes arn't the greatest  ).

All in all, it preformed as well as any other barrel length i've fired. I would love to take it down to the Nanaimo Military Range and try some shooting at 200, 300 and even 400. I think she could do it. I would definately need to put an optic on for that stuff.

Well I love it. Especially the MRE setting, it's the first time I've seen it on 7" set up. I like the proportion of the handguard to the rest of the rifle. I hope you run into some zombies!

Very nice.

Were did you get the Badger Speed block and how easy was it to re&re the stock RRA gas block with the Badger?
