Just finished some 10/22 performance mods

Just finished:

- bolt lock modification to auto release
- removed overspray and polished internal receiver
- radiused and polished bolt to hammer contact area
- polished bolt receiver contact pads
- polished hammer to bolt contact area
- inserted nylon bolt buffer

What a performance difference. Very nice indeed.

I may tap and assemble an overtravel set screw at some point also. I'll see if it bothers me first.

Don't forget to polish your guide rod and disconnector also. (shims will help too)

how and what do you use for polishing these small parts? I would like to do the same.

For the most part it is a 4 step process:
- sand with 320 grit
- sand with 600 grit
- sand with 2000 grit
- polish with buffing wheel and buffing wax... for buffing you can either use a buffing wheel on a grinder or a buffing wheel on a dremel.

When you are done it will be a mirror finish.

I just finished modifying the stock sear and hammer to give me a 3lb trigger... real nice. I have a pull force gauge and stock was 5.5lb's. I don't think, performance wise, there is anything else to do to it... I may have to buy another gun
