just getting into the precision thing

Guess you guys aren't aware what some of the Bushell's are priced at and capable of.;)

I have 2 bushnell 6500 elites and after sending both of them back to bushnell to get fixed one now sits on a shelf and the others on a ruger 10/22 now I pray everytime I take me 10/22 out the recoil won't wreck my scope. I am aware of exactly what these scopes cost and in my opinion they are very overpriced rimfire scopes

I'm sure he will like it.Unless he sticks a bushnell on it, its hard to shoot with blood in your eyes.

Well there in lies the problem, that is all he buys is Bushnell because he is a tight farmer.Still can't convince him that glass is as or more important than the rifle. He has tried some of my "other" brands , says his is good enough and like his Legend and 3200's better.

the bushnell was just something i put on it to get the rifle to the range for a day to see what it was like to shoot being that its alot bigger than what im used to shooting, 4th shot the cheap bipod i threw on it split :p. soon to have a jae stock, nightforce optic and an atlas bipod tho then i can start doing some real shooting

As mentioned, the Bushnell will work but its not ideal. I hear you on the "lets get it out and shoot!" mindset. Having a rifle with no glass is agony. If you haven't used a NF before you'll appreciate it the more you run it.

And when your wife/GF asks " do these pants make my ass look big?" , what do you say??:p

If they have any brains they'll answer honestly. I don't f*ck around. You ask a question you get the honest answer. If you're asking the question knowing full well the answer likely won't be what you want to hear, and are hoping I will sugar coat it or pat your a$$, then you're in for a surprise.

Well guys, everyone has a different experience with bushnell scopes. They are not my first pick, but.....

I have both a 3200,5-15x40 & a 6500,4-30x50 tacticals on my .308's. (I know they dont recoil like a .338 Lapua).
I purchased these scopes because I couldnt afford Mark4's at those times. And these scopes have performed "flawlessly" out to 1200 & 1400 yards respectively, so far. I was suprised as well! Now I am glad I have 2 affordable scopes that do everything I was going to get a mark4 to do!

Money in my pocket, and I am satisfied with my results. I "may" have gotten lucky, but who knows?

I hope the OP has the fun of his life with his new rig!!!

Had a Bushnell to start my long distance shooting. Good scope, held zero well, had no issues. Then someone gave me a Leupold to try. Very clear glass, fantastic light transmission. There was a noticeable difference.

Have looked at the Elite 6500 series. Some good glass there. Shoot, have fun with that rifle. If it breaks, Bushnell will give you another one. I have friends like some of the other posters here who had their Bushnells break. They will never buy another one.

Right now the best thing you could do is shoot. If someone is nice enough at the range, they might let you look at a target with their high end glass. You can make the decision if it is worth the upgrade.

good post :agree:, i've had two bushnell's and have not had any issues with them. Is it the best out there, no, but they aren't the worst either. They are good for the price you pay.

Great advice! :agree:

You won't realize what you are missing/ not missing until you upgrade. When you can outshoot the capabilities of the optics then upgrade. Nothing wrong with the package you have right now.

I had a bushnell 4200 10X tactical and I took it out to 1000yrds on my 308win. Not saying it was the best tool for the job but it was capable to make the trip.
