Just got a 07 Norc M14, here my first build step by step.

Nice looking rig Evan !

Let us know how that mount works out for you. I've been playing with a Springfield 3rd Gen and have had trouble holding zero ( I think its figured out now ) and I guessing a number of us are interested to know how other mounts work - especially those of us who don't want to go the ARMS/Sadlak route because of cost.

I will pass on a much info as I can, hopefully I can get out next week sometime. I was looking for the price of this B-Square mount online but couldn't find it, do you have any idea what it is?

Yes it is but I might find the magnification to low, I like my other falcon so much I thought I would give this one a try for the price I bought it at.

Is that the Falcon Menace 1.5-5x30mm SIR scope?

I finally had a chance to take this new toy out for a day at the range, I guess as any day at the range it had it's ups and it's downs. I replaced the Falcon scope I was going to use with a Bushnell 3200 10X, I had one before and realized it would be much better for this setup. So all in all it was a fun, beautiful, sunny day with low to medium winds, I brought my M14 and my Rem 700 and I had two different 150gr, .308 makes of ammo, Winchester Power Max and Rem UMC. I was shooting at the 100 and 200 yard range, all in all the gun grouped great at 100 yards and spread to about double the size at 200 yards. I had a big issue where the rifle didn't eject the spent case and of course didn't cycle the next round either, the screw is loose for the gas system and gas system doesn't seem to work at all. I am making another post on that so I won't go to deep into it here.

Here are some pics of the day and the 100 yard groups.

I'm likin' all of that eye candy Evan.
I actually kind of like it when my rifles aren't working. It gives me an excuse to tinker around with them, which I find almost as fun as shooting them :D

Happy shooting!

I know what you mean and it's kinda a nice way to pass the time, for the amount of time I'm at the range compared to the time building and fixing my guns I better enjoy it.

Thanks for the all complements and as of now :D it's not that bad price wise, it's just over a grand.

$600 rifle with mods and mount
$200 stock with extras
$200 scope
$20 scope covers
$20 rubber butt pad (in the mail)
$80 bipod

Very nice looking set up...

I have a question?

What do you have invested in that rig? as it is pictured above?

I've been getting in a few new parts lately and I had some time today to put them on and take some pics. I got a Fabsports rubber butt pad, a bunch of Magpuls and I threw on my other bipod for looks.

Welcome to the M14 addiction. You are always welcome to come up to my location for an M14 visit! :D

Upper handguard is loose, eh? You should see/hear the racket my USGI handguard makes... That's normal for an M14. The Norc M14's are built to tighter (read: less rattling) specs and they got that part right.

How about a range report?

Did / have you greased all the rails, lugs, raceways and then hammer hooks?

Barney

What is a good grease to use in these areas? I have been using CLP, is something heavier required?

Hungry here: Any grease. I particularly love the Can Tire wheel bearing grease in the squeeze tube into my curved tip syringes. I'll bring a few dozen to the Calgary and Winnipeg clinics out west next month. I also like the white/beige lithium grease since it's visible against the dark parkerized receiver! Very quick visual verification.... :D

High heat wheel bairing grease.
Cheap but effective. Try the stickies for more info.
Workingspy what did you do with the multi tool that came with the rifle. The end can be used to tighten up the gas assembely. Also I would stick with the UMC because it sure look's like your rifle like's it and thanx for the update.

I never had any of the original accessories for this gun I kinda bought it in pieces, i have a few things I am trying to sell for it but not that specific one.
