Just got a call from the CFC

My dad was one of my references, so after I was done saying 'no' to every question the CFC guy asked (some of which were repeated), I handed my dad the phone and he asked him some more pointless questions. I guess that's their background clearance check?

Part of it. I wouldn't be surprised if they did full background checks on the references as well as the applicant, as asking the few questions over the phone hardly confirms anything and would be easy to fake. They've gotta do something in the legislated 28-day waiting period, so why not call up everyone they can and ask redundant questions? :p

Just got a call from the CFC.

Don't worry, that's just the people that needed jobs out on the coast happy to have one! I think they feel like they have to justify their existence and they are actually "contributing" to the decrease in gun related crimes? Who knows! Better then being a can counter I suppose? I'm going to the range!

I got a letter in the mail asking me to call them. They asked me all the same questions. I answered yes to the loss of job question, I said i was laid off.

They then asked me if it caused me any stress or anger, I answered no. (these things happen in life). Then they asked how long ago and what company I had worked for etc, I answered those questions and tada, I recieved my rpal in the mail 3 day's ago :)

I had a "job loss" (not really that much of a loss) just outside the 2 year mark when my application went in.

Had a "failed relationship" just outside the 2 year mark as well. But that wasn't much of a loss either. (I feel a bit bad about it now, but I emailed her to tell her that I was leaving town... for good... without her... while I was at the airport waiting for my flight.)

S#!t happens in life... The way I see it, I'm still breathing, so things can't be that bad. When I'm not breathing anymore I might get a bit upset and freak out.
