Just got a CZ858, need help with dismantle

Hey guys, well heres the deal. I am trying to get the damn Reciever Cover off, it will just not slide forward far enough to take it off.
I mean I'm no weakling, I have strong hands but this thing is really stubbarn.

I do not want to pry on it or anything in fear of damaging something. I have lubed it all up ect but still no go, it only slides forward a short ways and get stuck.

Any ideas fellas. Do I have to dry fire it first??.

Make sure the hammer is down and the pin is all the way out (it should click).

It sounds like the hammer is cocked back putting extra tension on the cover.
 
No I wasent going to pry, yeah I just dry fired her and it took off the extra tension.

I put some lithium grease on the what looks to be high wear areas in the trigger assembly, and a ramp on the bottom of the bolt.
I'm not sure where exactly the gremlin occurs though. I want to try and prevent it as long as possible.

good idea, i polish the ramp first with very fine sand paper but be careful not to polish near the bottom.

Polishing near the bottom would in turn increase the chances of the gremlin by making more of a gap between the ramp and the sear disconector, am I correct?.

P.S. I'm still excited, these rifles look saweet :D.

Yeah I'm familiar with the easy dismantel with no tools required bit, I own an sks.
I was just unsure about dry firing it because I was not sure if it would be a total nightmare to re engage it know what I mean.
I was not aware it needed to un cocked in order to take the strain off the dust cover.

Thanks to everyone for your quick replys :).

Now I just have to hope I don't get that phucking gremlin.

i respectfully disagree cos the ramp is very rough, its like a file going over a sear disconnect .

i recommending polishing , not removing gobs of material and not at the bottom of the ramp. this is only a preventive measure since wolverine lack any preventive suggestion.

i cant gaurantee it will fix the problem but i know if i didnt do anything the gremlin will surely ruin my day at the range.

My ramp seems to be quite smooth although i am very new to these guns I may be looking in the wrong spots.
I will continue to keep it greased with lithium and see where it goes from there.

Is there any chance of damageing the firing pin with this rifle by dry firing?. I have taken it apart like 30 times playing with it so far :), trying to get everything broken in and smooth.

Also anybody know what kind of steel the bore is made from, it looks like stainless even though I'm sure its not.

dont be too obsess with dry firing .

if you want to know where the SD touches the ramp , then clean the bottom of the carrier first and apply grease on top of the SD and cycle, you will see where the grease is left on the ramp, it should be no more than about 1/8" on the ramp.
