just got a MKA 1919

Only fired a few mags so far. Buckshot and target loads. Only complaint is that the mags are stiff to load at this point.

It comes with a little ring that says "for heavy loads only" inside the choke tube box. I should read instructions to see what it does. :)

I called Mark at Nechako Outdoors Wednesday morning, showed up at 11am Thursday. This gun is way fun sand feels fairly intuitive if you are familiar with the AR15 rifle. Only downside is 5 round magazines, pulling the trigger on this shotgun is pretty addictive. :cool:
 
The rings are for heavy or light loads, if you want to shoot slugs or 00, you need the heavy ring or you can damage the shotgun. Fun gun but the sights are pretty bad, keep coming loose. The mags loosen up after a few loadings but they are very stiff to start. Apparently you can buy an aluminum lower for it that allows AR pistol grips etc, but I don't think I will bother, works fine the way it is.
 
Sights do work loose, not really worried about it as loctite will fix that. My issue is that it patterns low, even with the sights at highest elevation. I'll have to play around a bit with it. But I can't shoot it without giggling. :)

Simple solution, pop the cheap plastic sights off and slam a high end red dot on there and your problem is solved.
 
If it works out (from a reliability standpoint) that looks like a great solution for an aggressive bear or cougar. Slugs for bear, SSG for cougar (45 pellets of .35 cal would make kitty into cat food real quick). That's a fast firing SG.

Perfect defensive gun for home or camp with half a dozen mags. Trap loads for pests, 4buck for yotes, BB for racoons, OO and slugs for bears or Cougars depending on the situation.

whats the difference between this and the derya mk 10 in build quality?
they are all turkish made, box mag fed semi auto
does it come with a 2 round mag for hunting?
also what are the "rings" for?
doesnt it just have a cylinder bore and chokes like the derya for tighter groups?

-Derya and what, they have been several brands mentioned
-GM, FORD, Chrysler are all North American cars, there are differences
-Rings are for gas system, heavy rings for slugs, buckshot and heavy reloads or magnum rounds, light ring is for target loads
-some have chokes some do not, and yes that's what chokes are for is to increase or decrease the pattern

for example the mka1919, br99, and the derya.

i know the derya is aluminum and the stock sights are better. the mka1919 the sights are polymer and loose from factory, the br99 and mka1919 are similar but slightly different options, etc.

do the derya, mka1919 and br99 all allow 10 round mags from the pump shot guns, and which of the br99 and mka1919 has the best support and build quality?
is it worth spending the extra cash for the derya?

On my MKA 1919 my stock sights are metal, and what they mean by loose is the screws that tighten them, they fit on the rail perfectly good. All you have to do is tighten them, I am unsure about 10 round mag use in the Derya, MKA 1919 for sure fits, but my guess would be any Turkish made magazine fed shotgun, all the mags with interchange. Derya and some other brands have had feeding problems until the gun is broken in, my 1919 has not missed a beat from the beginning. I like the quality of the 1919, I have not used the others. But as I said before the MKA 1919 seems to be one of the top choices when it come to 3 gun matches in the US. Tactical imports is the one who imports them, there are a site sponsor and the support I have received from them has been good. If you want to buy after maket products, the 1919 has the most support, like tooth and nail armory.
The only thing I dislike about the 1919 was the polymer lower receiver, so I bought an after market billet receiver, and an updated trigger. The new receiver allows me to use AR-15 funiture, AR safety and you can used a modified AR-15 trigger
 
Is it complicated to change the rings? I'm not sure where I put my instruction manual. :)

I think I need a super bright flashlight on mine, too. What's the primo choices?

Fenix PD35 in a fenix mount. 960 Lumens. It's like a car headlight. The Fenix remote switch also works on the PD35 if you want to go that route.
