Just got a nice Sako, could anyone tell me anything about it or it's value?

If there is anything that resembles karma out there, your cellmate will make you wear a skirt.

And magnaporting does reduce recoil and muzzle jump, with the focus on the jump, unbeknownst to many.

Dear me then man, check the lugs for stress fractures, the handle for hammer marks and make sure you can see out the end of the barrel. :)
Those rifles were the best of their time as far as production units go. You'll enjoy it.

I'd rather have a sore @ss than a ported rifle. Too bad because the 75 was a very high quality rifle, especially in the stainless and synthetic model. The chambering isn't overly desirable thanks to it's level of recoil and cost to operate. Still, it's not bad all around, just not as good as it could be. You did come out better in the trade though so it's all good. Personally I wouldn't change the stock. Those grippy synthetics that Sako had were outstanding.

I would put better recoil pad before shooting it like Limbsaver or Pachmayr and if you need lower rings you can try to trade them or get low rings only as you have bases already.

A Sako 75 for a Mossburg! Holy crap did you ever do well. This is an exchange from Bizarro World. That's a once in a lifetime trade.

I had to tell my wife about this, even her jaw dropped. I had a laugh when she asked, "Why would anyone want a Mossburg? Why would anyone get rid of a Sako?"

Sakos function smoothly and typically shoot very well. Not a fan of porting, but that's a personal preference. You also have a chambering that will kill anything on the continent, up close and at long range. Enjoy your new toy and go buy a lottery ticket.

Yeah I've actually come to like the stock that's on it. I took some #6 lead shot wrapped it up in ziplock bags and filled the stock with about 2lbs of it. It has taken away almost all of the recoil it feels like fireing a 30-30 now and is accurate as hell. (mind you I have only fired it to 150 yards.) But that's with bi-pod and a 30mm red dot so not bad. Except for the increase in weight which doesn't bother me I used to hunt with a mosin nagant so not much weight difference and as for ammo I found a bunch today at lebarons in Ottawa for $32 a box for 150gr and 180gr Remington core lokt sp rounds so not to bad to fire now I think I bought everything they had 240 rounds. I still can't believe I got such an uneven trade. But hey maybe I will go buy a lotto ticket!

Thanks Guys yeah I traded the Mossberg Tactical .22 with a Ncstar Scope and Reflex sight foregrip and ammo for it so I'd say yeah |I should likely do time.lol I knew it was worth more than the 500 I had into the Mossberg and equipment but wasn't sure how much more. It is by far the smoothest action on a bolt I've ever felt. I've only had it for a few days and after cleaning it up I think it's a keeper for sure. Any recommendations on how to protect the stainless steel are there special compounds for this.

Did the guy who owned the Sako have head trauma or anything like that? You traded junk for something that is great quality. The guy was really stupid and you made out well.
