That scope does look like too low, for that height ring, you should get a smaller objective scope.
 
Just got back from the range with mine! I found a perfect load.

At 200 yards I got consistent .90" groups with a .75" group as the best of the day and that was with virgin brass and cheap primers. It was a bit windy also.:p


Here is the load info if you are looking for a place to start:

-165 gr Sierra Match King
-46.5 gr of BL-C(2) I trickle charged every round.
-Remington brass
-Federal LR primers
-Also I crimped the necks which will give better consistency.

Any other info you want on the rifle let me know.

I dont think he's selling it, he's informing us that he is so pleased with it that he is more than happy to let the rest of know any details about "his new rifle".

I have a question: why the Tac and not the Varmint? I am considering the varmint stainless. Differences that you can tell me?
 
better barrel and threaded muzzle I think, plus the rail. And his rifle is for sale in EE

Differences? About $600, for that you lose the adjustable cheek piece and the picatinny rail that's 0 MOA anyway. Might also lose a couple of mounting points for a sling on the sides of the stock. Also lose the threaded muzzle. The biggest advantage of going with the Varmint is the wide array of calibers that you can get it in, with the Tactical you're limited to .223, .308 and .300 Win Mag.

Same deal with the Super Varmint VS the Varmint. Don't think that an adjustable cheek piece and scope rail that will probably get replace anyway are worth anywhere near an extra $600.

Bought the Stainless Varmint, couldn't justify the extra $600 for the Super Varmint with negligible addons. Have a Ken Farrell 20MOA base and an IOR 3-18 FFP on it, great rifle, it loves S&B Match, Hornady 168 A-MAX Custom and Win Supreme 168. Still have to find the time to work up some loads.

For the money, it is indeed one of the best out of the box rifles I have owned or heard about.
