No groups. rounds all over the place. slightly better with gas off.I replaced the op rod spring and Sadlak spring guide. Did way way better with 168grain burger and 42.5 RE15. groups slightly larger than 2 inches at 100 meters. Have a hunch I can get better with some more research. Will try IMR 4895 when I can find it in stock. until then I am putting the rifle away as powder is not available right now.
All of the Chinese ammo went bang. Had one round out of 40 that failed to extract as it swelled in the chamber and had to pound on the extractor handle to get it out of the chamber with a hunk of log I found at the range. One round that I examined had a split neck. Did not look at every case after shooting as they are steel? and I just let my bones fly. I have only experienced a split neck in a commercial brass case once. I have been reloading for about 10 years now for everything from 22/250 up to 375H&H and 338/378 Weatherby and mucho calibers between.
Now I have previously been reloading commercial 308 Win in my Norenc. No split necks, no hard extraction,no incipient case head separation. I check each piece of bras for case head problems before reloading. I am on number 6 reloads for some of my 308 Win. I also do not use a small base die for resizing. I only neck size and I have a shell holder that sets my shoulders back about .002 when using a full length resizing die. Any comments? lets hear some opinions on experience with Norenco ammo and M14 Norenco. I could be wrong here can only describe what I experienced today on the range.
