Just wanted to show you my first AR. Rock River Arms from Questar. It's basic but I entend to make a few changes...

Here's what I've done so far:
Installed winter trigger guard
Changed grip
Will change stock (how do you do that by the way?)
Did put a riser and scope but will look for something better

Next, free floating tube or handguard
and perhaps a new shorter barrel (now it's got a 20 incher)
I'm getting rid of the front sight

Can't wait to try it out. Used to shoot 1911s and I think it's a nice addition to the collection. Next stop AR10.

I've got the bug alright...

I can tell it's your first AR, the mag's in upside down.;)

Don't waste too much money on changing stuff right away. Make sure you know exactly what you want to do with it first.

You probably now have what I call "ARitis". It's also known as "black rifle disease". It's not curable and consumes most of your money and thoughts as you buy more and more AR-15's....by the way you should get an ACOG scope....I'm cheap and they're F*****G expensive but worth every cent.

I wouldn't get rid of the front sight unless you find it overly bothersome. Gasblocks that use set screws can be knocked out of alignment or have sealing issues. Besides, it's always good to have a backup, I'd invest your money in a BUIS instead.

Still, nice rifle. Shoot it for awhile before you decide to make any changes, you may find that you like it as is and don't need to sink too much into it.

LOL

The mag is upside down. I was so excited to take the picture. It's my way of putting round in the mag while point at things I guess:D

Anyway, I figured how and changed the stock but man these things are nose-heavy.

Great advise Leg. I'll shoot it for a while and then see for myself.

Well, compared to a Target Master... it's nose-heavy !;)

as far as feeding the beauty... I had planned this for a while so I started buying ammo a long time ago. The ammo safe is filled with white boxes, silver tips, etc. I'm ready.

And yes it's a fantasy of mine to have a couple more.

I'm hooked!

Just got back from the range to try it out and man, I could shoot it all day. 10 rounds inside 1 1/2inch at 100 yards with white box ammo. Now I need a new scope and to start saving for an ar-10. I need to master the trigger that is a little stiffer than I had expected but it's the beginning of a beautiful relationship.:dancingbanana:
