I've been looking for a Galil style stock for my 858 pretty much the day I bought it. I thought I was going to have to pay a small fortune to order one from Israel, but I lucked out the other day. corwin-arms mentoned in another thread that he had a few for sale. So I jumped on that like stink on sh!t.

My first impression is, it feels like quality. When it's in the open position it is absoutly rock solid. No movement what so ever. The folding mechanism is 100% steel. My guess is this stock will last as long as I have the gun.

Anyway, here is a few pics

The only negitave is that its tough to get my head down far enough to line up the sights. It pretty much comes strait back. Im not too worried about this because I plan to get a BC Tactical handguard and mount a optic. Once thats done it will be perfect. It is comfortable, its about a inch longer than the origional witch is nice. Im a fairly tall guy with long arms so it fits me much better than the origional stock did.

A big thanks to corwin-arms for hooking me up with this stock. I got a awsome price, and shipping was fast.

I feel dumb for waiting. I was deliberating the pros and cons and they sold out from under my nose. I talked with Martin today, when I was getting the bipod. He said he only had 4 stocks for sale

yes, they are best used with optic .

at $250, i knew it would sell out fast at that price . they were $300 and up .

Sorry to hear that. I think he sold them all within 2 hours. I just lucked out. My buddy at work who's been a gun owner for 30 something years always tells me "there is two typs of gun owners. The quick and the dissapointed". lol

I was planing on putting on a Trijicon Reflex anyway, so its not too big of a deal. Once I have that on there it'll be perfect. I'm very happy with the price I got. As far as I know my only other option would of been to order one from Israel for 330$ plus shipping, then another 50$ for the adapter from stormwerkz.

Very nice! I was too late by an hour or so. Would a bc tactical scout scope mount bring you high enough? That would let you keep your hand guards. I like those too. Looks good green. Nice rifle

Thanks! I love the color of my handguards, but I only coated them because I was doing my 870 and figured I would do the furnitue on my 858 to hold me down till I got all the replacement parts. I've thought about the scout mount, but I was planning on getting the BC tactical handguard anyway. I love the way it looks better, and I still get to keep the iron sights for a back up.

Very nice!

Thank you!

anybody know anywhere else to get these stocks? i missed out and really want one

This is the only place I've seen them. http://www.israeli-weapons.com/store/butt_stocks/p23.htm
You may have to contact them to be sure it'll work on a VZ 58.
You'll probably need this adapter as well http://www.stormwerkz.com/Description_Pages/VZ58_SA_VZ58_03_Views.html
I've looked everywhere for them, and that was the only option I was able to come up with. Hopefully carwin-arms will be getting more sometime. Maybe ask him if he expects to see any in the future.

You don't need an adapter, they sell one specifically made for the VZ58.
