Well Folks here it is,

After a 4 week long wait for the CFO to get through the mountain of transfers and finally approve mine, my G27 restricted is here!

Many thanks to Mark and all the guys at Questar who got this gun to me as quickly as possible (even with the wait at the CFO) and to all the guys on CGN who showed me their awesome G27's and (very quickly) convinced me to get one of my own! I can not wait to press some rounds for it and fire it tomorrow!

Also, im selling my Beretta CX4 in .40S&W, follow the link!

PS the Glock 26 or 27 are great pistols.

haha...i think nearly everyone in here would agree that we would all give our left nuts to be able to have 12(6) on our licences...very nice piece of kit

Is that the Lone Wolf black oxide barrel? How is it marked and how does the finish hold up? Questar Mark was mentioned on here awhile ago that they are "blind marked" on the bottom. I'm not a fan of that Wolf logo on the stainless barrels personally, but I know that some people like it.

Let us know how the finish wears on that barrel. I don't care about wearing particularly (I shoot mostly SIG and the finish wears on those barrels as soon as you start hand cycling them... and they are awesome barrels/guns) but I heard a nasty rumor awhile back that some of those black oxide finishes were flaking off. Maybe that has been sorted out now. The stock GLOCK barrels don't really wear at all, but I always thought of that as a double edged sword - the gun looks like brand new after you clean it... even years later... but... :( you have a gun that doesn't lock up particularly tight and it shows on your paper (at least that was my experience with my GLOCK). I know they are not designed as bulls-eye guns or anything.. but I could never do any better than about 3 inch groupings at 10 yards with my bone stock G17, whereas I can get down to 1 inch ragged holes at that range with a SIG... and generally right on point of aim or very close on a good day. At 25 yards I was in pretty tough to keep all my shots on an 8 and 1/2 by 11 piece of paper with my GLOCK - although certainly some people are pretty good shots with them.

That is one of the reasons I was interested in the aftermarket barrels. One of the ROs at my range has a G19 with a Bar-Sto and it fits a lot tighter to the slide - and it shows on the paper. One of those G19's keep calling my name even though I have largely renounced striker fired guns... let us know how your G26 works out. It looks great if you ask me.

.... It pains me to see that long barrel on a handgun that looks so nice without it.... I still will never, ever, understand the barrel length requirement laws.

That said, it's still a nice Glock. Congrats !

Chris,
You're gonna have to pull up your socks and take some really good quality pics of that gun. Do NOT take any more pics with your phone. It's just not cutting it. I want to see, more light, better focus, more angles ( ie- closeup with barrel in focus and the rest of the gun slightly out of focus thus drawing the eye to the hole in the barrel), remember to use a nice backdrop( rest the gun on a leather jackets, piles of bullets, river rocks etc). Get creative damn it!! WOW me.

HEY! Buy your own!:D

Quick Range Report

So i wrote my last exam yesterday morning and figured what better way to celebrate and try out my new glock than by shooting up ALLLLL my notes from the year?

The gun itself looks awesome, but the mags were really frustrating. The mag springs are so damn tight that the a full 9rd mag will cause the gun not to cycle! the gun fires, and the slide comes back, but the recoil spring doesnt have enough force pull a new bullet all the way up from the mag. This happened to me every time with the 9, 8 and 7th rounds until the mag spring had some more play and the gun could cycle properly. With the first three rounds id have to jimmy the slide or push the slide forward to chamber a new round, and even had two occasions where the gun locked up with a live round in the chamber (and i tell ya, dissassembling any gun with a live round is not something to look forward to). Right now ive stuffed the g27 mags with rounds and will leave it for a week or two to hopefully weaken everything up.

For the rest of the day, i just threw my G22 mags into it and the gun worked perfectly...and it also gave me somewhere to put my pinky finger! the gun was dead on, and a tonne of fun to shoot.

To answer the question about the barrel, the ghost mark is underneath where the recoil spring clicks in. The barrel showed a little bit of flaking on the chamber block, and the outside of the barrel showed some wear from the slide. Cleanign the gun afterwards, i noticed that the barrel finish was rubbing off on my hands which i was not impressed about, and will be in touch with Questar about that.

Other than that, a great gun!

Chris

Looks like nice G27. I would have went with Storm Lake stainless barrel if you are worried about Lone Wolf loosing its finish.

I have G19 and G23 with Storm Lake barrels and they shoot awesome and look good too.

Download all glock magazines by one round and try Pearce magazine extensions if you find stock G26/27 grip too short.

New pics!

just to make merc happy, ive posted some newer and more artistic pics. i have my BB course this weekend and have pumped off like 700 rds for it, so i threw them in there too. Ive also included the aftermath of shooting up my notes and exams from this school year.

Ive worked out the mag problem with the gun, and it works great now. But i do notice the finish starting to flake away a little bit, and may consider chemically removing the finish and just having the original stainless in there.

Chris, you just WOWed me. I especially like the pics of the two glocks side by side. It really shows the size difference. I also like the paper target shots. Little holes in the front and huge holes in the back. Great stuff.

Your missing a G23 between those 2 Glocks how long before you fix that empty hole?

My G23 with a Barsto barrel is amazingly accurate.
