ok so I took the Sig and the HK for a ride last night.
I did 4 courses of fire (IDPA with the HK), it blown me away.
Very easy to shoot, due to the grip being so comfortable, the sights are not night sights but they have a very good contrast and are very easy to pick up. I noticed that this gun likes hot loads, the loads I am running in my sig cycle the gun perfectly and they eject 5 feet away from at 5 o'clock whereas with the HK they barely make it out the ejection port.
Here is the good thing about it, I shoot better a DA/SA than a my Mp9, I don't even feel the long pull, nothing, the gun is very safe to handle, the pull is very deliberate but at the same time very precise and you know when it's going to brake since the DA pull comes to a full stop right before the break, which is vey defined. I am in love with this design and I know where the people complaining about the long trigger pull is coming from. I think that those are bench, slow shooters that take their shots aiming at teh target, thinking about the pull, pulling slowly.
You don't feel (at least I don't) any of that when you are running the gun in a realistic scenario, I love love love love this gun. I was the fastest at the range yesterday with it and very very accurate and we are talking IDPA courses with 10+ yards targets, moving targets, nealing and running, good stuff.
I run my SIG p226, amazing too, it is a recoil sponge, very easy to shoot accurate and the trigger is amazing in my gun, stock trigger.
It is slower, sluggish to run in IDPA compared to the HK due to its weight, the difference is subtle but it is there, the sights are noy as good as the sights on my HK and the SIG has Night Sights, I found these sights are hard to pick up but I think it has to do with the shape of the slide and high bore axis more than the sights itself. Overall it was a great shooter but the HK felt different, in my opinion the HK makes a much better, faster gun for self defense than the SIG. I felt more confident taking long distances shots with the Sig due to it's weight but I can achieve the same level of accuracy with the HK with practice. If I have to pick one, I would choose the HK in a heart beat, more reliable, lighter, built as a tank, very fast, nice trigger IMHO, SUPER ACCURATE and comfortable to shoot for longer periods of time.
I am very impressed.
