Just got my RPal and saying "Hi"

Hey everyone,

Just checking out this forum and having successfully completed my RPAL and PAL am klooking to purchase my first couple of firearms. Would love any recos on this although I know a lot are here already. I am leaning towards a Ruger 10/222 to et as much ammo downrange at an affordable cost as possible through I know I will quickly become bored of a .22 so I am thinking of also pairing it with a Mossberg 590. Anyways, would love any thoughts as my knowldedge right now is of course "newbie" status.

Thanks everyone! Excited for this new journey.

Welcome to the CGN from southern Ontario Dan, you got some good choices in your first firearms, the 10/22 is a great choice especially if you want to customize it.
And shotguns Mossberg 590 or 500 is also good choices, also the Maverick 88 if on a tighter budget and there also a great choice,
I've had have one for years and never had any issues, pumps are nice because there are not as picky on ammo as some autos can have feeding and extraction issues.
Keep us posted on what you decide always interested to know what new gun owners choice.
What are you going to be shooting with the shotgun? Helps with recommendations.

Enjoy the shooting sports.

Welcome from SEONTARIO. Great adding another member to the forum. A rimfire will never get boring and no amount of guns is too many! Lol

The 10/22 and the 590 are great first choices, quality over quantity. If you ever get tired of them they have some of the largest aftermarkets of any firearms out there, so you can change them up on a whim. Never sell your first firearm, just a word of advice. And remember the first rule of gun safety, have fun.

Thanks everyone! After much researched I’ve actually decided to go with the CZ 457 for my first rifle and have just closed a deal with a member here for a beautiful CZ 457 Premium. Looking forward to becoming more integrated in the community here and thanks for being so welcoming everyone!
