Just thought I'de share a few pictures of my new .308 and the addons I picked up for it, here ya go! hope you enjoy. (haven't taken the stickers off because I haven't tested it yet)

Great little gun!

I have one of the first run ones and I love this rifle. I found mine to be very light, easy to carry while hunting and it is very accurate.

For a .308, it has a bit of kick but that's due to the lack of weight.

I'll never part with mine and I bet you'll enjoy yours!

and yeah i was going to comment on that: on my rugers i keep mine flush with the front of the loading port to keep the loading port completely clear - then again those are hinged floorplate, not mags.
 
I noticed the eye relief works better when its flush with front of the loading port as well.
Can't wait to get it to the range... It's just a shame the furthest our range goes out to is 100 yards I'd really like to see what it takes to make a 200 or even 300 yard shot with this setup.
 
It was my understanding the new ones didn't have iron sights....which to me, are a 'must'. Where did you get that one, and is it 'new' or one of the earlier batch?

It is the new one ( with accu-stock and trigger). I noticed most all online retailers list this riffle coming without sights and sling but on Savage's website they list it as having sights and sling so I phoned Savage; They told me that every scout comes with iron sights and a nylon sling, its just that some retailers have been mislabeling the products. I picked this one up at wholesale sports and they list it as having no iron sights and no sling, I talked to them and they admitted the mistake but have yet to update their site. So yeah long story short, they all come with iron sights (the sling is nothing to write home about though)
I think I may paint some white around the peep sight and front blade though after I range test it on Saturday (gold bead on top of the blade isn't doing it for me)
 
Thanks; it was the Wholesale Sports web site that had me deceived, with the pic showing sights and the description indicating none. Looks good!
 
I bought the 10FCM from DelSelins in Dec in 300wsm for my Xmas present. No iron sights but I didn't want them anyway. I am reloading for it now but no range report yet. Once it gets warm I'll give it a try.
 
Mine is the older style without the forward scope mounting system. I imagine the wsm will have a bit of bark out of the 20 inch barrel but I should be able to come up with an acceptable load.
 
Picked one of these up about a month ago; I’ve only shot it once so far. I did manage to get some reasonable groups at 150m, though more work is needed to sight it in and I was short on time. The felt recoil is manageable as the but pad is soft like Jello. I have a Leopold scout scope on it.
