Hey everyone,

2 weeks ago I started a thread on where to get a SKS, and all of you suggested I go to Lever arms, and lots of you gave me some great info on what to look for.

Well, I finally got it! :) Beautifulll gun. Pictures will be up soon.

Now please understand I am a noobie when it comes to this gun, so please do laugh at my questions :)

1) What are some things I should do with the gun in terms of up-keep, and keeping it in good shape?

2) Is there a video or instructions online that show you how to properly load the ammo into the SKS rifle?

3) Is there a video of instructions on how to take it apart, and other things related to the gun?

Any other info regarding the SKS rifle for a noobie would be great. Thanks guys! Ill post the pictures soon!

Great thanks.

One thing I am having trouble finding is a vide on how to load the SKS.

I bought a box of AMMO from level arms, and they come on a metal clip, with 10 to a clip.

How do I load the rifle with that? Any help would be great. Thanks. I just want to learn how to load it properly. Thanks!

pull bolt back, place 10rd stripper clip in clip guide, push 5rds down with thumb.lift clip+remaining rds out of guide then pull back on bolt let bolt fly forward ,done.

It's quite simple, with the barrel pointing downrange and the safety on, pull back on to the bolt handle until it holds open. Take a full 10 round stripper clip and feed it upright in the notch or groove on the top of the bolt carrier, push down. Naturally only 5 rounds should feed into the magazine, they should easily feed in. Holding the base of the stripper clip, pull it out of the notch and place aside. Pull back on the bolt carrier handle and let it go, it will slam forward loading the first round in the chamber. Release safety when you are ready to fire. That's it, repeat and enjoy!

Others have already answered your questions so I just want to say congratulations on buying an SKS, you'll love it. It was the first rifle I bought 4 years ago and it was a very special time for me. Hope you have fun.
