Just got my Tactical-Inc...

Just got mine in. Took it to the range for a test drive. I know this will be heresy but I was not overwhelmed by the mags.

They are very loose in the action vs the BC/ramline mags. There was a fine line between not locking in place and being too loose.

I did get periodic jams. I had both the nosedive into the mag and jumping up missing the chamber to jam in the top of the action. Yes, this is early days and I can play with the mag somemore to get things tweaked. But my BC mags have been plug and play with zero problems.

If this keeps up, there will be mags for sale.

They are strong and I can see them being very durable but if they keep acting up in my action....bye bye.

Jerry

You know they have to be adjusted right?
If you got one that worked perfect in your gun outta the box, then you'd be extremely lucky

I went in with another member on here on an order, getting myself one to try out. I shall let you know how I like it when I get it :D

For the price, you can't go wrong! supposed to be 3x stronger then the aluminum mags to!

EDIT: Duh, oh ya.. and that would be the composite T125 Mag

That shouldn't be happening. I had the very same problem, and I was very frustrated as well.

If you're having trouble understanding Tact. Inc's instructions, try this:

To adjust the mags to fit, start by screwing them all down into the mag. Don't go too tightly, just enough so they're snug.

Then take the screws on the left side (looking from the rear of the mag) and screw them out about 4 or 5 turns. They should be sticking up about 3mm or so.

If it keeps sticking, just keep unscrewing that left side.
That's how the mags worked for mine...they'll obviously be a little different for everyone.

Could you not just slap in a factory 10rnd ruger mag and open the bolt and see how the feed lips fit and eyeball and adjust it that way?

Finally

Got my mags back in Feb like 1 or 2 days before my B-day :)
Got to the range on my b-day just put my bags down on the line, cell rings, gotta fly
June 19th rolls around finally get a chance to try my 10/22 and mags. :)
Load up,pull the bolt and kaWAm! Round gets stuck. I spend like 3 hrs at the range trying to adjust the mags. Finally give up,shot the AR then home.

I spend at least 8-10 more hours between the evening of the 19th till 3:40 AM June 21st. I finally figured it out from reading a thread that I should try right side all the way down and left side of mag 4-5 turns up.:) Who woulda figured?

Anyways, at least they all feed a proving round no problem. :)
Hopefully I can get up there on Mon and try thses suckers out :)
Keeping fingers crossed.

I got my aluminum Tactical Inc. mags way back when they first came out. A member from Rimfire Central arranged a group purchase, they still cost just shy of $100.00 each (our dollar wasn't worth as much then). This was before they manufactured them with the adjustment crews and they work flawlessly, I've never had a fail to feed or a stovepipe with them. The barrel is pretty warm after rapidly going through the 2 TacInc and 2 BC Steel Lips 25 round mags.

SO!! Looks like I'll be sticking with my cheap $15 25rd BC mags. I'll save my money on some usefull mods:)

Well, I have not written them off. I have not had much luck with BC mags.
Kinda hit and miss for me. No problems with factory though. I'm gonna try the TI mags out. If they work as TI Inc and others claim then I am gonna order some more.

Yes!

Well I finally got to try my TI mags. I loaded three rounds into each one of three then tried them all out. I had a jam on one mag but after a small adjustment it loaded fine. Out of 300 or so rounds of bulk dynapoint I did not have one failure to feed. Funny thing is I adjusted for one of my 10/22's of which they were fine in but on the other it would not work.

Weird. They both stripped a proving round at home, Oh well, I am heading back up on Tue and will do a little adjusting. If they do not work in both then I will just order 4 four each one. So far I really like these mags. :sniper:

The score today was TI mags 3/3 and BC hotlips 1/2...

Thanks for the report Snausages, I'm thinking of some Tactical Inc mags...

Cheers
Jay

Allow me to rant on this topic?

I think the TI mags are great, and for 2 key reasons:

1) they have less breakage than the Eagle and BC mags, and

2) they are roughly comparable in price to the BC steel-lipped mags, once you get down to it. With shipping, these things came out to something like $42 apiece (I vaguely recall, depends on order size, etc.). In my neck of the woods, BC steel-lipped mags go for near-$30, with tax included. The TI mags are worth the extra $10-or-so/mag, esp. considering point # 1 - they will last a good while.

I guess the "rant" was more mild-than-wild after all, eh? :D

My point is this - TI mags seem - to me - to be the kind of quality for which it is worth paying a little more upfront. And it's really no hassle to deal with the guys at TI - phone them and say you're Canadian, and they already know you're calling for the mags (they simply ask you "how many mags", after you identify your nationality:cool:).

/\ Well, How can I not order some more after that explanation?
Seriously, After my last escapade with BC mags and a day of jamming I hated my 10/22. One of mine now has the internals polished and a VQ extractor/mag release and a Tuffer Buffer installed, the other is stock (for now).

add the TI mags and we are talking pure sweetness. Hell, I was rattlin rounds off so fast and consistently it was like doing a 180. At 25 dependable rounds mag after mag after mag,you will burn the ammo. You have been warned. ;)

Gee, thanks? ;)

Sounds like a good stable of test-gun you've setup; we're now awaiting multiple range reports testing ammo, scopes, etc...:)

Okay, for those of you too young to know, he's talking about the American 180, not the crazy half-circles that the sheer recoil of rapid-fire .22 shooting induces...

If you can find BC mags for $15 that is indeed a good deal. Any place I've seen them - they are typically more like $27-$30... and if you end up paying that much, you can get the Tac-Inc composites for about the same money.
