Just got sks cleaning question

Just got the SKS today, I have a question, can I use wd40 to clean the oil it came covered in? i dont have any brake cleaner around but would this work if I oiled it with synthetic gun oil right after? that way i can do it before dinner time

WD40 is good to go, no problemo...

I use syntethic grease for the action on all my guns, rifles or pistols and it works great.

Well it got most of it clean but there is still some brown stuff thats stuck to the barrel..

For the barrel use brake cleaner fluid then Sweet's or Hoppe's #9.

I was just thinking... as far as problems go, don't you have a nice one? I remember the first gooey mess of an SKS I had to clean. I savoured every minute of it.

That's some expensive stuff. Ya it would work but if you live close by a wal-mart hit then up for some cheap Hoppes #9 and save this stuff for your bolt action baby.
