Just one pistol... ?

Based on what I own right now.

First choice (TIE): HK p2000 light LEM trigger. I have lots of spare parts for this gun and it is extremely reliable. Excellent accuracy.
First Choice (TIE): Sig P239. slim, easily concealed. Ultra accurate and reliable, access to 10 round mags if needed, no neutered mags.
I could easily live with either one of above as my ONLY pistol. Spare parts easily obtained from Brownells.

Second choice: especially if I didn't already have HK parts....Glock 19. accurate enough, reliable, the most size efficient 15 shot midsize 9mm, logistics of spare parts is excellent, if I lived in USA...access to 33 round mags if necessary.

I ran only 1 pistol for 7 years.

Just bought my second pistol this year, and may actually go back to just one

My first pistol, and forever my favourite

Sig P239

Go with what you train on..

Given we are in Canada and there would be far greater use and rationale for wilderness carry than concealed carry, a 10mm (among these - G20, 1911, P220, S&W1006) would be my choice for an all in one.

I'm amazed how it outshoots larger pistols with ease, even with the DA trigger for the first shot.

Have you seen the stats each year on the number of Canadians attacked by wild animals vs the number of Canadians attacked by Criminal animals?

You are only about 1000 times more likely to need CCW in a city than you are in the wild, but fortunately most of us support both anyways.

CZ 75 Compact or my 9mm Makarov.

Sounds like you'd like a Cz83 ;)

Personally I'd stick with my HK USP CS in 9mm. Damn thing feels like it was made for my hand.

I'm a Glock guy, so I guess I'll go with the OP and choose a Glock 19 if I absolutely had no choice but to have one pistol. Glocks are like Toyota Corollas. Common and boring as hell but they do the job perfectly when needed.

I would feel bad that I won't be able to make a Browning Hi-Power work. But if I could conceal it easily, I'd go with it, even if a single-action gun is not the type of thing I would want to carry locked n' cocked.
