Just ordered a Vudoo V22S single shot - PICS ADDED post no 29

I was referring to their V22 repeater action, apologies if the generic term for one of their rifles was too generic.

My mistake, I missed the single shot part. That being said, my point actually still stands.

RimX was announced in early January 2020 and first delivered as you said, that spring.
The V22S was announced in October, with unknown first deliveries. I haven't been able to find any reviews of the V22S, or even any accounts or video of one being shot.

You are surprised that the RimX might be slower to come out then the V22S? I'm not. Vudoo has years of experience designing and producing .22lr actions, while the RimX is Zermatt Arm's first .22 action. Sorting out design tweaks, obtaining suppliers for materials, 3rd party parts (magazines?) and other services (coatings etc), building facilities, setting up tooling, training the workforce, licensing, legal requirements, dealer arrangements etc etc etc. Vudoo has been doing this sort of thing for the last couple of years pre-COVID, Zermatt is trying to go through the process in these trying times. And while Vudoo says the V22S is an entirely new design, there is a lot of carryover design and technical know-how from their previous work, something Zermatt can't draw from.

Full disclosure: I own neither a Vudoo or RimX rifle.

Obviously they dont know you or theyd realize how futile it is to get in an argument with you. Very well versed and knowledgeable. If he dont know he wont show, if you get it!!

Considering the V22S was released only in October last fall, there's not much available yet in terms of meaningful reviews or video of it in action. It may be helpful to read the firearmblog.com report referred to previously.

Here's a video about the V22S that comes up in a search. It's from May 2020. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LsKkYrgM5I

Many of the forums have V22S-specific threads and below are a few of them

As Glenn noted, there is a long thread discussing the V22 Single shot on snipers hide forum.
Thanks

Alpheus, I have no data on this, but my estimation is that Zermatt and Vudoo are roughly the same size. If anything I would guess that Zermatt is bigger and has been around longer and produces more bolt gun-type actions. So I'm not sure I agree with you on the specifics of Vudoo's advantages at getting a product to market.

Thanks Gilbert, I'll check it out. What scares me is that I would likely end up selling some of my .22 rifles that I am very fond of in order to make room & offset the cost of a Vudoo.

Rob I'm certain that we can help you
with that burden , keep us posted..

Strange how a brand new rimfire action can be in hand in 2 weeks, while an old product, the RimX from another manufacturer, is 4+ months and counting for delivery.

For accuracy we had this item in stock because we worked with Vudoo to bring the single shot barreled action to the Canadian market. We also have a RimX barreled action available, as well as a RimX RH 22LR and 17HMR actions in stock (maybe gone after I post this lol). Most of our RimX actions have sold prior to even making it to our shop. We have lots more on order so when these go the best thing to do is reach out to us for a forecasted order which will not be 4+ months.

Well, I'm always willing to do my part and help out a fellow firearms enthusiast.....and it just so happens I've been itching for a new .22 rifle.....

So it is finally home. I first installed the barrelled action in a McMillan light hunter BR stock I had home. It is ok but will be much nicer when I put it in the PR and T lowboy stock I am waiting for. Still have not shot it but have tried the action and trigger with snap caps. Action is very solidly and precisely built and Flavio Fare trigger is really nice. Here are a few pics. Sorry that I am not a better photographer.

Nice action.
Can you get the action separate or do you have to order as a barreled action?

From the Vudoo website's FAQ:

Does Vudoo just sell complete rifles?

No, we offer our barreled action to those who may already have a stock or chassis they want to use. We offer our actions only to gunsmiths that have been vetted by us so we can make sure they understand some of the intricacies of this new system. There are many differences from the old 40X that need to be understood. We also sell optics, bipods, rings, and other accessories in a package with your build so ask if you would like something custom.

I may have to give them a call.
Whether I go with this action or not, I have an interest in building an accurate .22 LR rig with my own reamer and barrel.
