Just ordered an M&P

Slavex has shot mine a few times and knows how it shoots. Which is why he is probably getting his in 9mm as thats his preference of caliber. There is also a .45 out being put through its paces by certain individuals in the states. There are some threads on the mp forum if anyone is interested.

yup Digglers is great. of course if he'd shown up tonight I would've handled it some more!

just talked to Shane at Reliable in Vancouver and ordered my M&P hope to see it next week!!!! in 9mm of course.

Good choice! I took the Shooting Edge's rental M&P 9mm out for a test drive last night and I quite like it. Tje ergonomics are the best (for my hands, anyway) I have seen in a polymer frame gun. They have a 9mm without external lock and without mag disconnect in stock That I am seriously considering picking up this afternoon. Can't really go wrong for $709!

I consider the .40 to be an answer to a question that didn't need to be asked. 10mm had a point, .40 not so much. anything a .40 can do defensive wise, a 9mm can do just as well, and in some cases better. with the right ammo. including permanent wound channels and all that stuff. Add the fact that 9mm is cheaper, easier to control (in my opinion), and not so prone to problems across multiple gun platforms (ie. Gklock KB's, broken Berettas and Sigs, etc). also in a free country you can hold more rounds, which when we travel to wonderful places for IPSC, we can use higher capacity mags than the .40 guys can.
how's that for a start?

Have fun when you get it. I love mine(hence the screen name). It is my first gun and I was a little nervous as to what gun I should get, but all doubt has vanished. Just wish I could get more range time in!

Anyone owns both M&P and Steyr M-A1? I'd like to hear from someone who owns both guns...

btw with M&P do you need any tools to take the rails off the frame?

A local guy at the club(happens to be rcmp too), just bought one.

Feild stripping involes picking at a lever in the mag well with a long tool metal pin that holds the interchangable grip/palmswell together.

Other than choking on any of his reloads its ok, his duty gun(smith 9mm, forget the number) runs 100% with them. He figgures the chamber is too tight, its been 'ok' with factory ammo. Oh and the 9mm mags are true POS! This is one reason that I like the .40smith as most of the mags don't have the ####ty base plates. Looks like the slide recoils right against the plastic frame too.

He seems happy with it, I shure wouldn't be.

I'll be getting 17's and converting them.
Saw the gun today and played with it. ####ing CFC didn't get the transfer done in time for me to take it home today. What the hell is with the BC office closing before 4pm???????? WTF is that about?
Like the gun, need to get Ghost to make a holster for it though.

I believe the MP's rails are held in the frame by a roll pin which needs to be pressed out if you want to remove the rails; not as slick as the Steyr, but better than the Glock :)

My new M&P has finally arrived.

I know how you feel about the CFO, mine seemed to take forever as well. I was there to pay for it and had to watch it go back into the safe. :(

Mine arrived yesterday and it now I pace the floor till I can get to the range to shoot it. I have to win the lottery so I can spend more time at the range.

I just have to get more mags before I can try this is IPSC. They, IPSC, are going to allow this gun in production, RIGHT?
