Just ordered an M&P

I got 4 from P&D and they were already set for 10 rounds. When I was looking I could not find any aftermarket ones. I was told they were made by Mec-Gar for S&W and they were not release them yet as aftermarket.
 
pinned how? that horrible dent in the side, or something blocking the follower?
I'll be blocking the follower, or adding to it or something. haven't decided yet.
 
It has a rivet through the side, all the numbers on the side are scratched off from 10 and up, and they just painted a strip around the pin with black paint. To tell you the truth its real ugly, but it works... :(
 
I just talked to S&W. They offerred to send my more plastic bases for the 10 round mags ... duh. I've had 4 mags break in 4 months!?

Love to pick up some pinned 17 round ... anyone know of any in stock?

Must be a run of brittle polymer in those M&P mags that are breaking. Hopefully, it is just an anomoly and not typical to the M&P. Nothing will kill interest in a new product quicker than some weak link in the production. Bad mags = unreliable pistol.
 
the mags that use the short metal body with a long plastic baseplate, break the baseplates all the time. The regular length mags with regular baseplates don't do this.

I'm asuming that those mags didn't like being dropped on concrete floors? ie. IPSC style shooting. I have 4 of the plastic type mags right now but I think I'll try to source out some metal ones before I take my Black Badge course...

Do I smell a group buy brewing?...

Let me know what you find....I was unsuccessful in finding any as the gun is so new. I needed more so I ordered 4 more from the S&W website as there was a 25% off promo code and I picked them up for $30 US ea.
 
So I see that S & W is offering a .45acp version at the Shot show. Head to head with the XD, although I think Springfields practice of not sending out spare parts is going to bite them.

Did you order the all-metal 17 round mags or the 10 roung mags w/ plastic spacers?

And I just got home from The Shooting Edge a few minutes ago. Took my new M&P 9mm out for a run today. 200 rounds without a hicup. I really like this gun so far! I played around with the different backstraps and while the medium fits my hand the best, I actually shot the best with the small one installed... wierd.
