Just ordered an M&P

IM ...
Bought the gun and 4 additional mags (it comes with two, so 6 total) in Oct 2006.
Shot 500 rounds using 4 mags in Oct and Nov.
Shot +300 rounds during Black Badge in Nov (two mags broke).
Shot +400 rounds up to now ... just broke third mag, and bought a couple more.
Lots of mag changes, lots of drops ... but they shouldn't break IMHO.

krausb,

I used a Blade-Tech / Tek-Lok for a month ...

then changed to the same holster in DOH just before BB ...

I quite like it, but don't have much experience with others.

I only managed to put 50 rounds through the gun myself tonight, and I think the other guys did at least that many. I had to failures to feed, one was a high primer getting caught on the slide, and another was a round with no primer. Not sure why it wouldn't feed, maybe it had a high primer and it got ripped out when it caught the slide. But beyond that it functioned well. Needs grip tape, not as slippery as a Glock, but still slippery.
easy 1.5 inch groups at 10yds as I was jumping on and off the line while teaching. No real chance to put it through the ringer, I might go out on Monday on my own to do that. I found at first it shot high, but after a few more rounds I brought it down to almost my POA. it might actually be the first gun I own that shoots 6 O'clock style instead of drive the dots. It's weird shooting a gun with dot sights, when I've been used to all black Novaks for years now.
the trigger is a bit mushy, and needs to be cleaned up (Production legal of course). not a lot of "tell" to it.
Mags eject flawlessly and the slide goes into battery if you insert a full mag hard enough, I would imagine a few more thousand rounds will make that work more often.
I was using the medium grip and liked it the best, but I will spend more time with the large just to make sure.

We have had a new shipment just arrive: both 9 and 40 in stock

both. But it can be hit and miss as to what configurations come in from the distributors.

My 9mm has the mag safety but no external lock, for example. But TSE did have some in without either.

Smith and Wesson was long accused of giving in to the Clinton gun pressure, and to continue to make these politically correct, short body, long baseplate magazine doesn't help them in my mind. Why make a good pistol and a junk mag?

I shot Winchester3030's MP the other day at the TSE. Fired 10 shots of factory and 10 of my 129pf puff loads and the pistol fires so easy that its rediculous. I wont give up my SP01 for the rest of the season but the MP suprised me that day because I dont like the other plastics.

The prices for Bladetech from TSE are a good deal by the way.

It's funny how quickly opinions change. When I posted pics of the M&P prototype awhile ago, most people said that it was a glorified Sigma and therefore a POS. Some of those people ended up buying one...

well don't think I was one of those. Although had I not had a chance to play with a few I doubt I would've bought one.
