I broke down and bought a Sig 226 Elite in 9mm. Blued finish. I'm literally obsessed with this handgun, and was always looking for excuses to go and buy it, so I just said F*ck it. I'm buying it.

I didn't really get the chance to handle it, but the way I figure, is that my hands are good with 95% of the handguns out there, and if there are so many people that like the fit of the sig, then I should be no exception. I went to the range about 4 times with the intention of firing one, but nobody showed with one on the days I went.

And if it doesn't fit? Well then handguns hold their value. Especially if unfired.

I plan on selling the rosewood grips that come with it, and installing the standard black ones. (I like the look of the black ones better). That way I get the factory installed short reset trigger and the extended beavertail for only a bit over the standard sig 226 price in the end.

I have been obsessed with the P226 since the moment I decided I wanted to buy a handgun! Unfortunatly I make a modest living and had to settle for the cheaper Smith MP9mm .. but ONE day .. mark my words ;)

I have no doubt you will enjoy this pistol.

I used to have a P226ST (now have P220ST) and also have M&P :)

For some reason I shoot my M&P9 better than P220  but I did shoot a little better with P226...Anyways Sigs are good guns but a little overpriced IMO.

at least its the real deal, and not the norc knock off..... I've only handled one of the norcs, and its shoddy quality scared me, I kept expecting it to blow up in my face :)

For those of you interested in a Sig 226, I just noticed that Questar is selling new ones for $899.95, which is an incredible price for a new Sig. It's on their website under the deals page. New Sig 226s usually go for around $1100

Yeah, I saw that.. I thought it was for a refurbished one. I guess not. Oh well, I probably would have just gone with the elite anyways. What's 300 bucks in this expensive hobby anyways.
