Yup, thats exactly what it means. Most of my "short toys" are set up this way. The red-dot and irons are on the same plane, so you are actually looking through the class at the front sight. You generally end up ignoring the irons and picking up the dot with your brain, but if the optic breaks/sun washes you instantly switch to irons.

And yeah...I might just be starting to reload ;)
