So what\'s so special about a Fulton receiver? I thought it was the LRB that was the M14 holy grail.

Powmia56 does not live in canada.;)
Last I checked Fulton did not have an export liscence for Canada and blatantly snubbed canadians.
LRB has the export liscence so can be exported through an ffl dealer and importer

Thanks for pooping on my parade. Do you have a new receiver on order? :)

Seriously, there is nothing wrong with stuff made by Fulton. They are a good company with a good reputation for quality products and stand behind their stuff. Not only that but they had a sale. :) $425 delivered versus the LRB price of $900 shipped. I decided that I could afford the first but not the second.

The build will probably take me a while ($$) but once completed I will be getting a Canadian owner's license and bringing my rifle to clinics when possible. I'll keep you updated with pictures as each part goes together.

Did Fulton confirm that their receiver was availlable to canadians?
I'd order one or two if someone can provide proof on export.
Hell... I'll just call fulton. ;)

The problem with exporting Fulton Armory receivers is that they are marked 7.62mm M-14 on the heel. A state department waiver would be required and it probably hasn't been perceived as worth it. I would think that if someone with an established business in Canada were to contact Clint that they might be able to work out some sort of deal, given the number of enthusiasts and the pricing on Fulton receivers.

OTOH, you might get people pointing out that Fulton receivers aren't a big deal and that LRBs are so much better which would hurt sales somewhat.

I would not get too excited , there are a few unfavorable reports about receivers that have had to be sent back !
Check the Falfiles and the M14 forum .
Mike

Just spent some time browsing M14TFL and could only find one "send back" report. Found several build and inspection reports from builders and they were pretty positive about the quality. A few cosmetic issues from some, but heck, it's a battle rifle. So with your permission, I am going to continue to be excited. :)

Importing from Fulton

I ordered a M14 from Fulton last week and after reading the posting about not being able to ship rifles with NATO caliber designation I was thinking I might have just commited hairy carry but after talking to my importer all is good and indeed these rifles can be imported.:)

Arrived. Took a bunch of measurements and everything looks good except the barrel face to bolt face surface is 11 thousandths over. I need to call Fulton but haven't had time yet.

Anyway, here is the pic.

PS It says "SAVAGE, MD" on the op rod groove. Different, Any thoughts?

It looks allright.

Has anyone ordered one of the cast or forged receivers from 762rifle in the states? Prices seem very attractive - or are they just Fulton and LRB receivers?

7.62mm firearms make their own forged and cast receivers. Apparently they got the US govt contract to make new M14 GI parts for the military. I just got one of their milled flash supps the other day. Very nice piece of gear:D
