I just bought a Browning 1911-22 and might be able to pick it up tomorrow (or Monday ).

Man they're a cool little gun, I liked it immediately.

The first thing you notice is how small it is (and it is tiny). The second thing is how it weighs practically nothing. The frame is some type of cast aluminum, but the slide is milled and not cast.

I love the fact that it's a 3/4 replica of an actual 1911, but I don't like the sights at all. Overall, it seems pretty well made.

I'll post some pictures when I get it in my hands.

I read some reviews before ever even considering buying one and they seem quite reliable, which is fantastic; because I was one of the first owners of the Sig Mosquito when they were first imported and that gun was a complete piece of junk (the first run that came to Canada). You absolutely had to run CCI Minimags through it, otherwise you couldn't shoot it more than once or twice at a time without having to clear jams. For the longest time, I didn't want to own a .22LR handgun because I just figured they were all junk, so I'm hoping that the Browning is a little more reliable.

I swore that I would never sell my Browning Buckmark Camper and I didn't...I traded it.:D Got a really nice Fender Stratocaster for it.
So I was considering getting one of those small 1911's as a replacement but unfortunately nobody has them in stock, where did you get yours and do they have any more???
Would really like to see some pictures beside a full size 1911 or some other size reference.

$569 from The Shooting Center in Calgary. Yes, they have more.

Picked it up today and have a couple of impressions:

First, it's very light. Almost too light. I like how it feels, though.
Second, the sights on it suck.
Third, it only comes with one mag (I assumed it came with two). Kind of dissapointing to figure out after the fact.
Forth, it looks like a ton of fun. It's a pretty high quality piece and Browning claims that their test gun has 400k rounds through it without anything breaking.
Fifth, it's incredibly easy to disassemble (for a 1911 design) and comes apart just like a regular 1911 but without any tools.

Handled one last Friday at TSE. Felt like an empty water pistol:rolleyes:

Not my cup of tea. Will stick with my GSG thanks:D

To each their own.

Sounds like the GSG is a better buy than the Browning 1911-.22. It's cheaper, has decent sights, and has the weight and feel of a 1911. Plus Blue Line will always take care of your customer service needs should there be a problem.

I handled one yesterday at Al Flaherty's. It's a neat looking gun but waaay too small. My pinky finger is just hanging there. It really does feel like a toy. For people with small hands (women or children learning to shoot) I think it's great. But for bigger guys, I really don't see the point of it.

With a safe full of full sized 1911, there was always room for another...even if it feels like an empty water pistol. LOL.

Mine also shoots really nice, but the trigger might need a bit of a break in.

Mags are hard to come by, anyone know who has stock?
