I just bought a Browning 1911-22 and might be able to pick it up tomorrow (or Monday
).
Man they're a cool little gun, I liked it immediately.
The first thing you notice is how small it is (and it is tiny). The second thing is how it weighs practically nothing. The frame is some type of cast aluminum, but the slide is milled and not cast.
I love the fact that it's a 3/4 replica of an actual 1911, but I don't like the sights at all. Overall, it seems pretty well made.
I'll post some pictures when I get it in my hands.
I read some reviews before ever even considering buying one and they seem quite reliable, which is fantastic; because I was one of the first owners of the Sig Mosquito when they were first imported and that gun was a complete piece of junk (the first run that came to Canada). You absolutely had to run CCI Minimags through it, otherwise you couldn't shoot it more than once or twice at a time without having to clear jams. For the longest time, I didn't want to own a .22LR handgun because I just figured they were all junk, so I'm hoping that the Browning is a little more reliable.
